If you moved in with a relative,

what did you bring kitchen wise?

We are moving in with family between our selling and buying period. Pretty much EVERYTHING is going into storage, besides clothes.

Regarding the kitchen, we plan on bringing dry goods, like pasta, cereal, snacks, freezer foods, etc. But what about spices? Frig stuff? Baking goods?

Also, what did you do with cleaning goods, too?

I don't want to toss everything because it is a small fortune to re-purchase but is it silly to store?

I just brought the stuff that was already opened or set to expire. Things like spices, cake mix, oil, vinegar, etc. all went into storage.

Unless you're 100% certain of when you're moving into your own house, I prob wouldn't store any food items. I'd bring them along and if nobody eats them, well- oh well

Just wanted to add: our 4 month renovation took more than a year. I was glad I didn't keep any food items in storage

We did that and I packed up everything that wasn't opened. If it was opened I chucked it. We were with my parents for a little over 3 weeks.

If you moved in with a relative,

When we moved in to my IL's house, we brought everything kitchen wise with us. I kept it in paper boxes in the basement and as we needed it we used it. So if they ran out of oregano, I went down and got mine, etc. It worked out well.

If you moved in with a relative,

We have been living with my mil for almost 3 months. Kitchen-wise, I pretty much chucked everything. I didn't know for sure how long we would be gone and our stuff was going to a storage facility. As for cleaning supplies, I packed most of it and sent to storage. My mil lives in an apt and there was very little room for us to bring anything extra.

we brought food and put some into their cabinets. for other food we brought our small pantry and put it near the kitchen to use stuff as needed.
