If you only planned to do 1.5 days at Disney, would you stay off site?

We will most likely do 1 day of parkhopper (we have a leftover ticket from our last trip) and then one afternoon/eve for the Not So Scary Halloween Party at MK. We also plan to do LEGOLAND and SeaWorld. We will also probably do 1 or 2 character meals at resorts and hang out at Downtown Disney.

Would you stay on or off site?

If we stayed on site, I would pick Arts of Animation or Animal Lodge. If we stayed off site, it would probably be the Ritz, Waldorf Astoria or maybe Reunion.

I was originally planning to do a 4 night trip but we will probably just make it 5 nights like our last 2 Disney trips.

I would stay off site. It doesn't make sense to stay on site when you will be visiting other parks and only doing Disney for a day. You can get much nicer accommodations off site. Not to mention they have cut back the extra magic hours so that really isn't a great perk anymore.

I can't believe how cheap the nicer resorts are down there in Orlando. The Ritz is MUCH cheaper than the deluxe Disney hotels. I would love to do a half day at the spa.

We did 2 days in Disney in November and we stayed off site. It was only like a 20 minute ride to the park.

Definitely off site. A Disney resort wouldn't justify the cost to not utilize it all to its full potential.

We've stayed off site three times and the car ride isn't bad at all. We've always rented a car but most hotels have shuttles too.

Right!! The pools are usually nicer, more space, etc. The only downside is the parking at the MK, I can't stand taking the tram to the boat/monorail. It's SUCH a process! But get there really early and you can at least eliminate the tram. Also, if the regular monorail line is long with direct service to MK, hop on the resort one. That line is ALWAYS shorter. Ride is a bit longer, but at least you are not standing outside sweating, and the kids like the ride.

I stayed for 2 days with a 2 year old at the wilderness lodge (stayed on premise) to max time there and i think it was worth it! we were able to do Hollywood studios in the morning come back to hotel for nap then magic kingdom all afternoon. The next day we had character breakfast at contemporary magic kingdom morning and then afternoon animal kingdom

The character meals I want to do are Mickey's Backyard BBQ dinner and the character breakfast at Contemporary. We had such a great time at Ohana breakfast that we may go back for that.

I guess it is something to think about because we plan to do meals at the resorts. Last time, we only ate at the Polynesian since we were staying there.
