If you own a Honda Odyssey or Toyota Sienna
Do you have a carseat in the middle seat of the second row? One of the salesman told my daughter that it's not safe to put a car seat in the middle seat? They went car shopping today and liked both mini vans. Each had one or two differences so now they have to decide which is more important. But she was wondering about the middle seat/with a carseat.

Really? I have a Sienna and I have the carseats in the middle ! I would think that is the safest spot.... wierd

I have 3carsseats across in 2nd row of our odyssey ..the middle one being the infant one..
That is one of the many reasons we chose the odyssey - the only van that gave us the ability to have a car seat of some sort in any of the 6 seats in the 2nd or 3rd row..depending on our set up needed

are you talking about the middle row or the back row?
the back row is ok i think, but i think the middle seat of the middle row of the sienna is not good. that seat comes out and is so narrow and has no latches.

Mine are on either side of the second row of the Odyssey. I'm not sure if you can put a seat in the middle of the second row - it's a removable seat, so it's much narrower than the regular seat, and doesn't have the same type of seatbelt/latch system.

In my Sienna we have captains chairs in the middle row. So there is no middle seat.

It does! I have a 2012 Odessey, and the middle seat does have the LATCH system. There are plastic covers that cover them which you have to remove. I have two convertible seats on either side, but the coup,e of times I've had my sister and infant with us, we've been able to put the infant seat between the two others.
We did recently however watch my o,der nephew for a few days, and his convertible did not fit between my other two, so we had to put him in the third row.

when i brought my honda to the car seat inspection place they never said anything about it being in the middle. They did say something about my parents toyota camry though.

We have a 2012 Odyssey. Two car seats. One on either side. Middle is too narrow and removable. Id never put a seat there.
