If you started milk before 1 yr
How old was DC? I am considering starting her soon. She's 9 1/2 months and not nutrient deprived by any means!

I started weaning by adding 1oz/ week to DS formula @ 10 months- By 11.5 months DS was completely on milk

Thanks. How did you introduce it? How many ounces of milk did you add to start to how many ounces of formula? I know the main reason to wait is allergies, but would 2 months really make a difference? She hasn't had any allergies yet, aside from seasonal. And she has had ice-cream, whipped cream, etc...

DS was on soy based formula, and yet my DR still gave me to ok to start weaning..
The 1st week I did 1 oz whole milk to 7 oz formula
The 2nd week I did 2 oz WM to 6 oz F
the 3rd week I did 3 oz WM to 5oz F
and so on
I think by 6oz of whole milk I stopped weaning...

Molly is 10 months now and I've started giving her regular milk in a sippy with her lunch. She still has an am and pm fornula bottle.I'm halfway through a large Similac can and when that is gone we are going to reg milk.

this is exactly what we did but we started at 11 mths. DD was on soy formula as well and had no problems with the switch
