If you started taking your prenatals before you got pregnant...
how far in advance did you start? I have my OB GYN exam next month at which I will discuss my plan to TTC during the summer and I know she is going to want me to start taking them right away. The problem is they made me so constipated in the past

I started taking prenatals when I started seeing my RE - so 2-3 months before I got my BFP.

I started about 4 mths before but I had a lot of problems and was told the earlier the better.

About a year before. I started taking an OTC one when I went off the Pill, I figured it could not hurt.
Try the CVS Brand, they are not that large and was very easy to digest. They are cheap also 100 for $9.99 and 300 for $19.99

I struggled with IF, so it ended up being about 2yrs before I got pg. I had the same stomach issues when I first started taking them, so my doc prescribed me otc prenatals and I didn't have any problems!
Maybe try them and see if it helps?

started taking them in feb and got the bfp in october. i was fine, intestinally, until the bfp and then it went downhill from there.
perhaps you just need to try another brand of prenatals?

I started about 3 months before we started trying (I was still on the pill and taking prenatals...lol). At the time I took the Rainbow Light prenatals (from Target) which were very good on the tummy.

I didn't take them before. I took a regular vitamin. My dr told me I don't need to transition to prenatals until I'm 12 weeks pregnant.

I never stopped taking them since having DS#1... first I was breastfeeding and then I wasn't sure when we would TTC (my mom was dying) so I just kept taking them.

I started taking Folic Acid about 3months before we got BFP...and only started the pre-natals once my Dr gave me the rx

I started mine Feb 1st, and apparently conceived mid feb  so it really doesn't seem to matter much, as long as you're taking them when the baby needs them most. My OB thought I would have alot of trouble conceiving bc of my irregular periods but it apparently wasnt an issue at all, so I really dont think the vitamins matter..
Im in my 10th week & seem to get nausea from the vitamins, and the OB actually said its ok to stop taking them, or skip every other day... Our bodies are equipt with all the nutrients the baby needs for MONTHS! So don't stress it out too much, and definitely see if your OB can prescribe something that wont constipate you

DITTO.
I found the Whole Foods OTC brand are the best (easy to swallow, no aftertaste, no nausea, with DHA). The constipation was really bad only at the beginning... I think your body gets used to the extra iron.
