If you went to Vegas, how did you decide which hotel to stay in?

I have never been, but I understand there are different type of entertainment/restaurants/etc at near by each hotel.

How did you pick the hotel? Did you want to be close to something specific? Or was it the right price that sealed the deal?

The first time we stayed at the Treasure Island bc we got a good deal..it was nice, but all the way at the end of the strip.

We liked the Paris when we were there and it was mid-strip so we stayed there.

I would look at a map and try to pick a place located in the middle.

Both times I went to Vegas, I stayed at the Mirage. It probably had more to do with price then location but staying central along the strip is great advice! You can spend a lot of time going back & forth.

Other things we considered were size - I find MGM Grand and Caeser's ridiculously large. Bellagio has the dancing waters so a water view would be cool. The Venitian is just beautiful. Check out their websites and see what appeals to you - do they have restaurants you want to try or a show you want to see. It comes together.

We just came back from there for the first time. We got a fantastic deal at the Venetian so that is where we stayed. We loved it! It really depends what type of vacation you are going for imo. Are you going as a group..as a couple...are you looking to drink and party..or do the tourist thing. IMO as long as u stay at a hotel in the middle of the strip you cant really go wrong but we personally now would onyl stay at the Bellagio or Ventian. The Mirage has a fantastic buffet, we went there twice!!! The only one I would air against is the Mandaly Bay--gorgeous hotel, gorgeous pool but so far at the end of the strip I cant imagine going back and forth to the other hotels over and over.

I've been there so many times, I've actually banned Vegas from my life for at least 5 years!!!

Vegas is great.You will have a good time regardless of where you decide to stay. Each hotel has its own theme and you can spend your whole vaca just touring each hotel.

I guarantee you, that no matter where you stay on the strip, you will NOT be in a shithole. Some hotels are nicer then others, no doubt. I think that what it really comes down to is price & location. What are you willing to pay per night?
There are some really nice places to stay that are very reasonable. Then you have the hotels that are crazy expensive.

My suggestion is to try to stay toward the center of the strip. You will be in the middle of everything. Hotels to consider are the Bellagio, Ceasars Palace, The Mirage, and the Venetian (my personal favorite). Vegas is awesome because no matter where you stay, you wont be far away from the nightlife / restaurants / shows.

We booked NYNY and it was in the middle of the strip.. I booked it bc I thought the hotel was adorable.. and the room was really nice

We decided based on location on the strip, price, and reputation.

I've gone 9 years in a row and I always base it on price. I look for good deals at least 6 months in advance and constantly monitor the price until the trip comes.

Location is also important, but we like walking so it doesn't matter much to us.

We got a great airfare and hotel deal for the Bellagio. We wanted something centrally located with a relaxing pool scene.

we heard really good things about the wynn so once it went super cheap we booked... we were looking to stay for middle of the strip though so we can walk both directions (and we did!!)

When we went for our honeymoon we wanted a suite and we wanted to be in the center of the strip, because we didn't rent a car, so we stayed at the Venetian.

The second time we went, we knew we were renting a car and we wanted a suite again, so we stayed in The Hotel at Mandalay Bay. It's a beautiful all-suites hotel that is separate from the main Mandalay Bay property. Loved it, but if we didn't have a car, it would have been too far from the rest of the hotels.

We always try to stay in the center of the strip but we did stay at Mandalay Bay once to mix it up a little. I highly recommend the Palazzo (attached to Venetian). Its new and I thought the rooms were amazing and TONS of restaurants and shopping there and IMO BEST location!

We got a great deal to stay at the Venetian when we went, and it was soooo worth it. The hotel and location were great!

There were other deals at the time, but the best hotel for the best deal in my opinion, happened to be the Venetian.

We usually go at least 1x a year, sometimes more and we try to stay at one of the newest ones each time.

We ruled out all the places that were aimed for kids, so that was an easy start. Then we thought about a place that had a lot to offer us as far as the rooms and amenities were concerned. We chose The Venetian because it offered the biggest suites, is connected to the Palazzo and you can use their amenities as well and was just absolutely gorgeous/new/clean/great reviews. We were SO happy we chose to stay there....felt like we were in Venice!

I just got back from ENCORE and it was unbelievable!! And I really could only see how great it was when I visited the others which paled in comparision

We stayed at the Bellagio bc we wanted to Vegas up right! So we splurged and it was worth it! We also specifically wanted to see the Cirque show that was playing there.
