When you stay at a hotel

Is a pool a dealbreaker? There is an inn in Martha's Vineyard that looks nice, but no pool. Is this necessary? I've never been there but I assume the beach is nice for swimming.

Not for me, but it depends on the time of year. if you're going to the Vineyard, it's probably summer and if it's a rainy day, it might be a nice perk. but i would be at the beach otherwise. so, if the hotel has one great, if not, or if that hotel is more expensive or not in a good location or whatever, i probably wouldn't bother.

In the summer it could be if I wanted a sit by the pool relaxing type vacation. I am not a beach person so in that instance, no pool would be a deal breaker.

If it's a sightseeing, visiting type vacation, it would be nice but not necessary.

I hardly ever spend time at the pool while on vacation. DH and I always bring our bathing suits, but then wind up being too busy out and about to even use it. So for me, no pool would be no big deal, especially at a place with a nearby beach.

Depending on the location, it can be. I would say for Martha's Vineyard it's probably not that big of a deal. You have the beach right there and it's such a cute area that you will have plenty to do other than swimming in a pool.
