Re: If you were going to revamp your entire wardrobe with the help of a personal shopper
Just hit up Express for some great pants, there's Ann Taylor Loft and JCrew for tops, you have Century 21 by you, etc etc. Just hit up one store everyday during lunch time. I'll come to Express with you to check out if your behind looks good in the pants

If money is an object, I would use the personal shoppers at Nordstrom or Lord and Taylor....they are free, and there is a great selection there for all sizes, shapes and styles!

If money was no object, I'd hire a stylist to shop boutique after boutique with me so I had stand out pieces that could be paired with other items. I'd allocate $5K to the spree.. a la What Not To Wear.
I love this idea!
If you have a favorite department store, I'd consider using their personal shopping department, but when you live in NYC with so many unique boutiques at your disposal I'd want to take full advantage of that. I would sooo love to do this!!!

not sure what stores are there but you should try ann taylor loft, banana republic, express for staple pieces and mix in some boutique clothes to jazz it up. ooo and jildor for shoes. this sounds soooo fun!

My 2 fav stores at woodbury are saks off 5th and neimans last call
Sign up for coupons on there websites and pick the 25% off your entire purchase weekend at off 5th
On the way back stop at the paramus century 21...no tax and great deals...there is also an off 5th there which I like better b/c of no tax :)

If I was going department store I'd do Bloomies in NYC... biggest selection and high end pieces that won't necessarily break the bank.
ITA
have fun

ITA they have the best deals. 2-300 dollar jeans for 100.
I would also check out BCBG they tend to have cute tops and dresses for more than half off.

Re: If you were going to revamp your entire wardrobe with the help of a personal shopper
I would take a very stylish friend with me. Honestly if you don't want to spend a fortune I would hit up Broadway in Soho and check out H&M, Forever 21 for accessories, Express for some basics plus also hit up the countless boutiques there for some unique stuff. Believe it or not I usually find nicer stuff for less $ there as opposed to a mall or outlet. Between Broadway and Canal all the way up to 14th street there are a ton of stores and the walk is not bad. Good Luck!!

I love Nordstroms and would definitely use their shopper service (I'm actually planning on doing this when I lose another 15 pounds as a reward)..
I just love Nordstroms- where they lack in selection, they absolutely make up for in service.

Re: If you were going to revamp your entire wardrobe with the help of a personal shopper
This is exciting!! I love wardrobe makeovers! I do this once or twice a year..
As for how much $$ to spend-its variable, based on what's important to you. I suggest writing a list out of specific pieces you need...but BEFORE YOU DO THAT-
clean out your closets and drawers and donate to a local church! Once you do an inventory you'll know what you need.
You could hire a personal shopper, but honestly I would bring a stylish friend.
ANd I always say invest in the classic pieces-spend the most $$ on those because you could wear them forever.
Good luck and have fun!

Wow- that's awesome! I would LOVE to that! I think I'd definitely go with Bloomingdales in the city and then some of the smaller boutiques downtown. I prefer to shop alone...bringing someone with me would just slow me down!!

Re: If you were going to revamp your entire wardrobe with the help of a personal shopper
Ps - I would make damn sure I am the size I think I am going to stay at for a long time!! I made the huge mistake of spending a lot of money on clothes after I had Madison....I would wait until at least 1 year post postpartum.
