If you were induced...

Not successful, but I was induced at 35&1/2 weeks, 3 days later things were starting to progress, water broke, ds went into distress shortly after and I ended up with a c-section at 36 weeks.

Re: If you were induced...

I was induced with pitocin. It was 8 hours start to finish and smooth sailing ( other than the 40 min of screaming pain at the end when they cut my epidural).

Re: If you were induced...

Induced twice with the same pregnancy... At term.
First failed. Went home after 48 hrs, cytotec & pitocin. Never really contracted well.
Second was a success after just under 12 hours, Pitocin & an interesting yoga position.

If you were induced...

I was induced with pitocin. Water broke half way at 4:30 am, I was admitted at 4:30pm and they started the pitocin at 8:55 that night. My son was born at 12:39 the next afternoon so about 15 hours total with labor and pushing.

Re: If you were induced...

Induced twice. Both successful.

First - 20 hours of labor. Given Cervadil. One hour of pushing.

Second - 7 hours of labor. Given Pitocin. 10 minutes (!) of pushing.

Had an epidural with both.

Re: If you were induced...

Induced with pitocin. 31 hours in labor. 2 hours of pushing. Emergency c-section ( I was having issues, DS's BIG head turned and was causing me extreme pain while pushing).

4 hours from start to finish. They broke my water first, and eventually I got the lowest dose of pit to get the contractions stronger. Everything was great, except my epidural never worked so I was in a lot of pain halfway through to the end. The nurse told me it would be fairly quick since it was a third baby.

Two successful inductions.

Went in night before and they inserted cervadil. Next morning they started pitocin. Got epidurals shortly after.

1st induction took 24 hours. 2nd took 15 hours from start to finish

If you were induced...

Induced twice- both successful.

1st- 10 hours total, 1/2hr of pushing. Pitocin and water breaking.
2nd- 20 hours total, but they had to keep stopping pitocin because DS2 was in distress (his cord was in a knot), so actually on medication it was about 4 hours total and 1 push.

Go in with a positive attitude!

If you were induced...

I was induced successfully. The plan was put cervadil in for 12 hours, take it out, sleep the night, and start pitocin in the morning...I never made it to the pitocin. When they removed the cervadil, it threw me into full on labor and I delivered 3-4 hours later.

Re: If you were induced...

I had a successful induction with just Pitocin. They broke my water about half way through and I got the epi soon after that. 14 hours of labor.

If you were induced...

I was induced with pitocin 3 days after my due date. Started around 9pm, and DS was born at 4:36pm the next day. I had an epidural (which slipped out so they had to put it in again). I think I pushed for about 30 minutes.

If you were induced...

Induced with just pitocin. 24 hours total including 3 hours of pushing (yikes!), but had a successful vaginal delivery. They broke my water about 14 hours in which started moving things faster and I got my epi shortly after that.

Re: If you were induced...

Started with cervidil at 6pm I was 1cm, contractions started by 11pm and started to become very intense and frequent. My ob took out the cervidil at 3 or 4am. Still 1cm. They broke my water probably by 8am and still no progress was made. At that point DS heartrate started going up and down and my blood pressure was dropping and I opted for a c-section. DS was born 11:40am.

Re: If you were induced...

I was induced on Saturday morning with Cervidil. After 12 hours, I was still not dilated enough so they chose to do another round of cervidil to try to avoid pitocin. I delivered the next morning, so 24 hours after the first round of cervidil. I was happy I never needed the pitocin.
