Re: If you were induced...
Induced with #1 and hoping I won't have to be again with #2
I went in at 41wks exactly at 10am. She wasn't born until the next day at 8pm. (So something like 34 hours from start to finish). We had cervidal and pitocin and it took FOREVER to begin to progress. But in the end, it was a successful vaginal delivery with no complications at all. Just a long, tiring, and expensive process that I don't care to repeat.

If you were induced...
Induced on a Monday. C-Section on a Wednesday.
Cervadil did nothing..pitocin did nothing. I dilated to 1 CM. Thankfully no strong contractions the entire time so it's not like I was in pain then ended up with a C-section.
Once they opened me they discovered DDs head was stuck which is most likely the reason I didn't dilate.

Re: If you were induced...
Induced with DC #1 after water broke, w/ cervadil. He was born about 12 hours after I got to the hospital (vaginal delivery).
Induced with DC #2 after water broke, w/ cervadil again. Was not progressing past 5 cm and heart rate was dropping so the Dr. made the call to do a C section. She was born about 10 hours after I got to the hospital. Turns out the cord was wrapped around her.

Re: If you were induced...
Successful induction - 2 rounds of cervadil (24 hours) started really late Monday night and then Pitocin started at 930 am on Wednesday. DS #2 was born at 2:40 in the afternoon - maybe 3 pushes.

If you were induced...
Failed induction that ended in C-section.
Started cervadil at 10pm Friday night, was contracting all night, but didn't feel them. My doctor broke my water at around 8am the next morning and started pitocin and got the epidural. Stalled at 5cm and we opted for the C-section bc I had spiked a fever and was just so tired. Baby was born at 6:55pm Saturday.

Re: If you were induced...
with #2 I was 3cm dilated and 60 or 80% effaced and my doc let me elect to induce bc baby had been breech but I had her flipped and since I had the c section date and was so progressed anyway he said do you want to keep it and I will induce you, it will be quick
It took less than 5 hours from the time I walked into the hospital until she popped out

If you were induced...
Induced twice. One successful, one not. Both were horrible experiences unfortunately. The first one took 65 hours but I was finally able to deliver vaginally. The second one took 81 hours from the time the inserted the cervidil to the time she was born via c-section.
It's one of the reasons why my husband is getting a vasectomy. I will not put myself through that again. I'm just eternally grateful that my daughters were born and are still healthy.

Re: If you were induced...
DS1: Got cervadil around 2:30am; pitocin at 3:15pm; baby born at 6:21pm.
DS@: Got cervadil at 9:11pm; pitocin around 10:15am; baby born at 3:17pm.
Great experiences both times. (Epidurals with both.)

If you were induced...
I think they started the pitocin around 8am and I delivered after 20 minutes of pushing at 9:10pm for DS 1.
I went into labor for DS 2 but, was scheduled for another induction if it didn't happen.

Same here! I was induced after my water broke at 40w2d. There was a little meconium in the fluid so they didn't want to play around. No contractions on my own and my cervix was still closed, hard and high. I was on cytotec for 24 hours and having INTENSE contractions toward the end when I couldn't take it anymore and begged for an epidural. I was 2 stinking cm. They gave me the epi and a "balloon" to dilate me and I progressed to 4.5 within an hour. Upped my pitocin to max dose, epi wore off, hung on until hour 36 and I was only 6 cm so we opted for a c-section. Prob for the best anyway. There was no way I was going to get that girl out!
FWIW- I would NOT recommend waiting so long. I ended up with a uterine infection that turned into a liver abscess. There's a reason they take certain precautions.

If you were induced...
I was induced at 41 weeks. I started with cervidil. Pitocin was started about 8 hours later. Labor was not progressing. I could have waited longer but I did not want to take any risks and decided to have a cs. Total time was almost 24 hours.

If you were induced...
After 26 hours I opted for a c section. I made it to 6cm then regressed to 4cm. Epi didn't work and I couldn't deal with pain anymore. My induction sucked. I had a horrible birth experience.

I had a failed induction. Water broke spontaneously but never dilated more than 5cm.

If you were induced...
With Ds, water broke on its own at 800 pm but contractions were irregular. Cervadil was given. Dr was born at noon. With Dd, had contractions all day Saturday but didn't go to the hospital until 8 pm. Was given pitocin at 1030. She was born at 322am.

If you were induced...
My only advice is to avoid the epidural for as long as you can stand it...it slows down the labor

Re: If you were induced...
Started pitocin around 7:30. Broke my water around 9:45. Got the epi about 11:30 and my DC was born at 12:47. It was quick, and a great labor and experience.
Before the induction I was about 1 CM dilated and 75% effaced.

This was actually not true for my first induction. It took 60 hours to go from fingertip to 4cm which is when I got the epi. The epi allowed me to get some sleep and relax and when they checked me 4 hours later, I was fully dilated and about ready to push.

Re: If you were induced...
I was induced at 39 weeks with DS#2. I had been 2 cm dilated for a week and would probably have gone into labor within a day or so if I had not been induced.
I was in labor for 3-4 hours and delivered DS really quick.

Re: If you were induced...
Induced with Pitocin with dc #1. He was born 6ish hours later. Looking back, I feel like my contractions were a little more intense with my induced child but it was a good experience.
Alice, If you don't mind answering, just wondering why they didn't want Pitocin? Is it b/c it would have been too many drugs?
