I wanted to go back before my maternity leave was up! Being a SAHM was not for me, i felt so overwhelmed and really flustered by it all. I needed my adult time and to get back into my work life. Initially though, it was hard to go back and be away from him. I got myself a digital picture frame and filled it with pics of him so i could see him all day and my daycare sends me pictures every once in a while

i still miss him sometimes, but i know that me working is really the best for both of us. I would be a cranky frustrated not happy mom if i was home all the time and he would not like that either!

I was glad to be back at work. I missed her but not as much as I thought I would have. It could have been because DH was taking 2 months off to stay with her and I wasnt leaving her with a stranger. Now that we are both back to work I miss her more since I dont get daily picture messages. I wish I made enough money so DH could stay at home with her.

I couldn't wait, and I still LOVE coming to work. I always say, I just don't have it in me to be a SAHM, it is THE hardest job in the world and I couldn't do it without completely losing my marbles. Going to work keeps me sane and makes me a better mom, I think.

Lasted about a month. After that I started feeling more guilty , and missed him so much. I didn't enjoy my maternity leave bc he cried all the time. Once that stopped, things changed

I do miss working though

It's lasted... Sometimes i wish I could stay at work all night!!!!

I didn't want to go back I was a mess a few weeks before I had to. DH saw how misserable it was making me and said if I wanted to be a SAHM he would make it work. It was nice of him to offer but I couldn't let him take care of everything. It took a good month not to feel guilty that I wasn't with her. I missed nursing her all day. Now I don't feel bad. Even though I'm at work it's nice not to have to take care of her all day. Mommy needs a break too. It makes the time that we have together that much more special

About 2 weeks before I was due t go back I was kinda excited about it. But when the the came I didn't want to. It was exciting for awhile then it got old. I still miss them when DH has them in the am and thurs/fri but I'm in the house so I can see them. I'm sure I'd miss them like crazy if I worked outside the house.

Cate, thanks for posting this! I really love my job, I haven't even gone out yet but I am looking forward to working and being a mom. I like the idea of the having that balance between mommy/baby time and adult time at work. I was worried that might change but I'm glad to see so there are so many moms who still feel that way after going back!
