If you were Plus Sized right before you got pregnant...

Where are you buying/did you buy your maternity clothes?

I'm so nervous I won't be able to find anything to wear. I was a 1X/18/20 before I got pregnant (unfortunately). I shopped the Motherhood Maternity section at Macy's, but their largest is regular XL. One sweater and two workout tops fit, but I'm only 11 weeks. If those fit now, I feel like I'm screwed when my belly gets bigger!

I was roughly the same size pre-pregnancy.

Pants in XL fit just fine from Motherhood/Destination and Kohl's. I'm short as well, so I get XLPetite and it's perfect.

As for tops -- it's kind of a hit and miss sort of thing. Some of the XL tops from those stores fit just fine, and some feel a little small.

I got some XL maternity tops from Old Navy and most fit just fine...but some like they might not quite fit for too long. So I purchased a few XXL Maternity from ON.com and those are SWIMMING on me.

You will have trial & error with the tops I think -- but start with XL an go from there.

motherhood/destination materninty behind the smith haven mall has a decent amount of plus size clothing.

also old navy maternity has plus sizes - but i believe they are online only

I am not plus sized but I do know that Old Navy does carry plus sized maternity online (and much of their stuff runs big). Also, the pants at Destination Maternity run really big (I wear a medium in pants from there when I am normally a size 10 in reg clothes which would probably equal to a large in real life). I was bigger than you pre-pregnancy. I ended up finding my favorite maternity stuff, especially pants and jeans at Motherhood Maternity in the Bronx. If you go on their website, you can search for locations near you and it will tell you which ones carry plus sizes. I also bought a couple of things from JCPenney online but I didn't like their stuff much.

As far as tops go, I have only bought a handful of maternity ones and I am 33 weeks. You can find tops that will work in regular plus sizes without spending the extra money for maternity. Also, a lot of my pre pregnancy tops still fit. Since I wasn't wearing very tight fitting clothing before, there was plenty of room in there for the baby belly.

I was the same size when I got preggo with dd. I bought a pair of dress black maternity pants from target and they were huge on me. tops lke everyone else said is hit or miss. gl

I got most of my stuff from JC Penney onlne. Their 1X maternity shirts are sorta huge but the shirts fit great

old navy has been good to me also... im a size 18-20 and some of the regular plus size fits me too since its roomy

I was a little bigger than you pre-pregnancy and I found that most of my tops still fit but my pants started getting uncomfortable around 18 weeks.

I bought work pants and jeans from Old Navy online. They have a decent plus sized maternity section. I have also seen stuff on JC Penney that is nice. I find that Destination Maternity is really expensive.
