If you work in Jersey City and commute
from either Queens, Brooklyn or LI (I know you SI people have it easy ), what does your commute look like and how long does it take you door to door. We might be moving in May/June...FML

Re: If you work in Jersey City and commute
My DH has done it, driving. Takes him about 1.5 hrs from Western Nassau, if he leaves by 7am.

Re: If you work in Jersey City and commute
DH's company moved to Jersey Jan 09 from Midtown. I hear alot of companies will be doing this...
He takesthe express bus from Whitestone usually @7am...then the path..his office is RIGHT where he gets off usually it takes 1hr-1.15min to get in in the morning.
On the way home IF he can get out by 5pm (rare) he can catch a 5:30 super express (goes straight to Whitestone, no stop, quicker route) bus and he gets home @ 6:10. If he does not get this bus the bus ride takes anywhere from 45-1hr (sometimes longer in traffic, on fridays).
While it takes a little longer it is not as bad as he anticipated. Also, he prefers working in Jersey City bc he was sick of NYC's crowding, hustle and bustle..thats his personality though

Re: If you work in Jersey City and commute
Im in SI and your right, we DO have it easy
What I would say to you is consider how long it will take you to get to Midtown from your starting point. Then add 15 min for the PATH over to JC.
The people in my office that commute from Brooklyn have an hour and a half (tops) commute.
Where in JC are we talking? Exchange Place? Newport Pavonia?
