Re: If your baby was/is actually COLIC....
tuning the tv or radio to static. My dr said that a big part of colic is that they get overwhelmed by stimuli and then they can't relax and get frustrated. So the static (white noise) sounds similar to how it was before they were born and it's soothing.
Was a total lifesaver for us, I didn't want to stand there for hours running the vaccuum which was the other thing that worked for us.

Swaddling! It was our biggest help with sleeping. He didn't like it at first but after a few tries, it did wonders. And white noise...B R Us has a CD with a vacuum, fan, etc...$6.99 and worked great for us. We just put the sound he liked on repeat when he napped in his swing. Oh, and the swing helped, side to side swinging!

Oh Lord - don't even tell me your ds is colic. My kids are 14 months apart and the younger one was colic. I seriously almost lost my mind. The only thing that made him stop wailing was to hold him close, put a blanket or lovie near his face and take him outside. Not the easiest feat in October & November when its cold out though!!! We definitely rocked him alot too!
