I would definitely offer my car- if they want to help me I should provide the means for them to help.

I would just give him my car...easier all around. Besides, if the kids spill something then his car isn't messed up.

I don't have kids and I often watch my neice and my sister and I always just switch cars. Yes, she could take the car seat out but it is just easier with all of the crap that goes along.
Same here- I take my neice and nephew all the time and I always use my brother's car. If I just take my neice that's a different story b/c I have 1 car seat and she's older (4)- my nephew is 1 1/2. They gave me an old car seat that my neice still fits in fine and I put her in the back of my car.

I don't have kids. But when I've offered the same to my siblings, they hand over the keys and cash to pay for them, even if I offer to take them out. It's a courtesy that you/I am providing and should be seen that way.

I would give him my car to drive so they can fit everyone safely. No questions asked, I would offer.
I would do the same. I do not mind having them drive my car if it's for everyone's safety.

If I trusted my brother with my kids then I would no doubt trust him with my car. Which on both counts -I trust my brother completely - its my kids that would have me concerned!

I'd offer one of my cars. If they are doing me the favor of watching the kids and I can have some peace and quiet I would not expect them to rent a car to do so. Nor would i put him in a weird situation where he may have to ask to borrow my car.

If the children needed car seats that I would absolutely tell my brother he is taking my car. No Ifs and or buts. Safety always!

I would definitely offer the car, 100%. I don't have kids yet so I don't know that I totally understand how it would feel to really need that time alone.
We took our neice overnight (we have the same car as SIL though and BIL installed the car seat in our car), and they took us to dinner to say thank you and sent us a case of assorted really nice wines.

I would insist that they take my car and offer them some cash in case the kiddies wanted some extra goodies. Then I would sequester myself and my husband in our house with a big DO NOT DISTURB sign.

same here. Absolutely!
in the case with my sis, we both have minivans and we swap kids constantly (change up the scenery) so the cousins are in constant sleepovers with eachother, so we just use our own cars obviously.
Would anyone actually expect someone to rent a car ?

Of course I'd offer. I love my brother and want him to bond with my kids. I'm also comfortable enough to say I don't want them in a two-seater.

Re: If your brother loved your kids and wanted to take them somewhere (hypothetically speaking. you do not need to have kids to answer the Q)
I always offer the car. But I also offer my carseat to them as no one drives a two-seater.
I definitely offer the car.
ETA: I just read the whole post...what I do for people that give their time to me...I would force money on them, make them either take my car, or install the carseat in their car, and often times leave the house so they can babysit in Bella's most comfortable environment...
Then I would skip to whatever transportation I am left with and gets to having a goodazz time.
