If your child has a babysitter (instead of daycare)... what is the hourly rate?
My parents' neighbor will be watching our baby once he is born. It will be four days a week for about 6 hours a day (if even). She will be watching the baby at her house, and I will supply everything he needs. Neither her, nor I, have any idea what the going rate is for a babysitter.
If you don't mind sharing, what do you pay your babysitter hourly? Thank you in advance!

My DD will be going to a sitters in september when I go back to work. I am paying $8 an hour. It wil be about $60 a day.

When I was looking at nanny/babysitters, the going rate was $10/hr.

$12 per hour for one child and this is the low end of the spectrum out here. Usually $15 per hour.

That is about what I get paid - but it is only for 3 hours a day twice a week

i pay 50 a day for one cild 7-330 and withteh second one come september i will pay 75 a day for both.

I pay my sitter $40 a day. It's not a lot for the number of hours she works but frankly, I can't afford to pay her hourly.

Around my neighborhood anyone older than high school gets at least $10 an hour, up to $15 an hour. I'm amazed by some of the prices posted unless the sitter is watching multiple children...
