If your kids get mad/frustrated
what do they do?
DD was mad this morning that I put her empty bowl on the table (instead of leaving it on her tray) and grabbed her leaptop laptop which was on the tray, and then bit the top of it! I was like W T H, I've never seen her do that before! I know its better than biting me but it kind of scared me a bit Normal ?
ETA: Normally she will say no no no and throw things, but I haven't seen the biting her toys before Such a fun age I am trying to teach her to say help...I can't wait until she can communicate better!!

Re: If your kids get mad/frustrated
DS used to bite his loveys to release pent up energy and frustration. Now he hits people and his toys. I am trying to teach him to hit the floor when he gets mad

Re: If your kids get mad/frustrated
DS would have thrown it across the room instead of bite. or he goes into slow motion and puts his head down and screams

Yes! DD has been doing this lately too! While I am glad she is not biting people, it's still strange to see. But I think it's pretty normal.

Re: If your kids get mad/frustrated
DS is 18 months and has been expressing his frustrations by shouting no no no and will do a counter sweep of his play kitchen sending bowls, plates, corn and tomato slices flying. Or will spread out on his tummy with the no no no, if he cannot get Mickey and Minnie to fit into the car that they do not belong to.
This is new so I'm not sure if I'm to leave him and let him get through it on his own or help him figure out his dilema. I try to teach him to ask me for help and he will sometimes say, mommy help you. But more times will get frustrated. I'm sure it's normal and natural but it's putting me on an emotional roller coaster. What mommy wants to see their baby upset?

Yeah that's AJ. She'll toss something violently to the floor or across the room. She'll do that or bend backwards and slam to the floor in frustration and scream.
I tolerate neither and she's sent into time out but its like a devil child I swear!

Re: If your kids get mad/frustrated
I have semi beasts on my hands...Noah whose 3 will scream...try to scratch you or throw something at your head. Sydney will bite everything and anything...have a picture of her biting her bedroom door...she bites the couch 1000 a day....she is scary. Chloe screams and then bites her own hand.
No advice here

Re: If your kids get mad/frustrated
MY DS (2 yrs) either throws whatever is in his hand...OR WORSE:
he immediately falls to a sitting position and then WAILS his head back on the floor (from a sitting to a laying position) and we have tile and wood throughout....how he doesnt have a concusion I have no idea??!! I try to stand behind him to soften the blow but I dont always make it in time...I never know if I should ignore the problem or address it bec I know he is doing it to get my attention bec he gets eye contact with me before he does it!

Re: If your kids get mad/frustrated
DD is 2 1/2 and will walk to her room, slam the door and yell "I'm mad"
I am not a door slammer so she came up with that all on her own

Re: If your kids get mad/frustrated
She bites, she screams no, she slams doors, and most recently has started deliberately peeing in her underwear.
