If your kid(s) play soccer...
What age did they start? DS will be 2 in May and I'm not sure when I should be looking into this for him. I went to our towns soccer club website, but there wasn't much info about ages. The youngest age group said u4 (I'm assuming that means under 4), but there wasn't any explination.

We're in nj so where we live they start at prek, which I'd 4. We started him at 3 with a private place called US Sports. Every town is different.

DC both started at age 5, but the two leagues that I've belonged to both start at age 3.
U4 = age 4 or under, not purely "under 4". <=, not <

There's a program run by one of our local churches that starts at 3 - it's cute, informal and inexpensive which is nice.
In our town, U4 would mean under 4. Our main league does it by calendar year. DS was born in 2009 and was on a U6 team this year.

DS plays at daycare. Its through Happy Feet. THey do have a few programs throughout LI. He started at 2 and its just to get them kicking the ball and things like that. But my DS is not obsessed and as soon as he is old enough he will be playing in the town league (they play in the park behind my house so it convenient)

My kids are 3, but pro-soccer kids has a program for 2 year olds.

My DS did it in the fall for the first time, he was 4. It was a mix of 3-4 year olds. To be honest, the 3 year olds really weren't into it. A lot if the younger kids didn't even participate.

My DS's birthday is October so all his friends wanted to start this fall, but he wasn't quite 3 and our town is a stickler about the age. We all went to a private program that also starts at 3, but was fine with him being a month shy. That said most kids were 4 in his group.

Thanks all. I think I'm gonna wait till he's a big older then. Around 3 or 4 seems better. Swim lessons would be better this spring anyway since ils have a pool and that's where he spends most of his time.
