If your kids wants to eat the same thing every...single...day
How long do you go with it?
Noah has now eaten macaroni & checese for dinner every night for the last two weeks...I make it from scratch every night, and I am so sick of making a roux yada yada yada.
I do change it up, most nights I put cream cheese in it, some nights cauliflower puree, tonight I put tuna and peas in it...he will eat a giant bowl of it, but I am sick of it.
But how long do I go on with this for?
He has no real interest in food, and to be honest, could go most of the day without eating anything at all, but would ask for something right before bed, so I have been humoring him with the mac & cheese...
and omg, just realised how many posts I have...

We don't have this problem per se, but we do have some issues with Jack trying new foods. I will bargain with him. In your case....."OK Noah, you can have mac n cheese if you take 3 bites of spaghetti with meatsauce". try this for a week where you change what he has to try every night with what YOU ARE HAVING FOR DINNER. This way you're not cooking anything extra. As he get used to it and starts to comply more, you can switch it up to "you can have mac n cheese tomorrow if you eat spaghetti with meatsauce tonight" kwim? GL

Emmy is 16months and started doing this a few weeks ago for grilled cheese. After night 5 we said enough. SHe didn't eat dinner that night, but did have some hummus and pita before bed as a late snack. The next night we gave her dinner just as normal and she started fussing. We just stayed firm and ignored her basically and ate dinner. She got sick of us not entertaining her so she started eating. We're pretty lucky though, she hates to be ignored and is a good eater in general.

My DD has a bagel every day; I just think it is what it is. She eats so I am okay with it.

its very normal...they call it "jag". Just go with it, but continue to offer other food items.

Ale had mac & cheese for lunch Thursday...and yesterday...for dinner yesterday....for lunch today...and for dinner tonight. And I don't make it from scratch, she is in love with the crappy Velveeta stuff.
I am hoping to break the chain tomorrow!!

Thanks for your input everyone!
Good news, this morning on TV he saw someone eating a baked potato with cheese and beans, so he has asked for that for his dinner tonight! Hooray!

I am not at that stage at all so I offer this with zero personal experience - though I did try a modified version with my niece and it worked. . but it's making the kid in charge of picking something out for dinner but with choices. .like you can take them to the store and say which of the vegetables do you want to choose for our dinner. . so kind of putting them in charge of selecting but selecting from options. . or giving them pictures of things.
this might actually work well with your DC since it seems like he might be visual from the potato example. .give him some pics of food and say which should we all eat?
IDK - just an idea!
