If your not going to work at all, what is your plan
for after the baby is born?
I plan to be home but am worried I'm going to get bored. Not sure how much work the baby is at first (I know a lot) but what else, if anything, do you plan to do to fill your time? Do we just plan things w/the baby like play dates, mommy and me stuff, etc? I have no idea!?

Re: If your not going to work at all, what is your plan
I went back, then got laid off, and decided to stay home.
In the beginning, the baby really doesn't do much, mostly just sleep, eat, poop/pee and repeat over and over.
The challenge starts when they are up more during the day and mobile.
Def start with your local library and join some mommy groups, take walks, i know some of the mommies on parenting board arrange playdates too.
My challenge is i am home all day with no car, I need the weather to get warm quick, i am starting to get major cabin fever. Thank god the baby keeps me really busy and tired, so between the baby, being pg, and cleaning/cooking etc, i am busy all day long.

I'm not working and I really didn't have a "plan". I guess I'm just going to enjoy being wiht my baby, taking walks, getting involved with mommy groups, hanging out... just taking it day by day.
Not sure this new job's going to borning

Re: If your not going to work at all, what is your plan
In the beginning, there is not much to do but bond with your new baby. Sleep when the baby sleeps (because you are not going to get a decent nights sleep ever again LOL)
I am a SAHM, and have been for almost 4 years. And I can honestly tell you that I am NEVER bored. Between keeping my children busy, keeping my house standing, LAUNDRY LAUNDRY LAUNDRY, playdates, doing whatever shopping needs to be done, etc etc...
Here, read this... it was emailed to me by a friend (who is also a SAHM) and its so true I wanted to cry!
And, I do not care ho wmany children you have or how old they are, if you are a SAHM (even for a short time), you CAN relate to this:
What Do You Do All Day? A man came home from work and found his three Children outside, still In their pajamas, playing in the mud, with empty Food boxes and wrappers Strewn all around the front yard. The door of his wife's car was open, as was The front door to the house And there was no sign of the dog. Proceeding Into the entry, he found An even bigger mess. A lamp had been knocked Over, and the throw rug was Wadded against one wall. In the front room the TV was loudly blaring a Cartoon channel, and the family room was strewn with toys And various items of clothing. In the kitchen, dishes filled the sink, Breakfast food was spilled on the Counter, the fridge door was open wide, dog Food was spilled on the floor, a broken glass lay under the table, and a Small pile of sand was spread By the back door. He quickly headed up the stairs, stepping over Toys and more piles of Clothes, looking for his wife. He was worried She might be ill, or that Something serious had happened. He was met with a small trickle of water as it Made its way out the bathroom door. As he peered inside he found wet towels, Scummy soap and more toys Strewn over the floor. Miles of toilet paper lay in a Heap and toothpaste had been Smeared over the mirror and walls. As he rushed to the bedroom, he found his wife Still curled up in the bed In her pajamas, reading a novel. She looked up At him, smiled, and asked how his day went. He looked at her bewildered and asked, "What Happened here today?" She again smiled and answered, "You know every Day when you come home From work and you ask me what in the world I do all Day?" "Yes," was his incredulous reply. She answered, "Well, today I didn't do it."

Re: If your not going to work at all, what is your plan
For the most part I just want to play and interact but there are reading programs for free at the library I want to participate in too. Not sure what else besides one of my best friends with her 2 yr old daughter lives a block away and I'm sure we will be inseperable.
