Sorry. Fingers numb can't type lol
If you twins were searated at birth by nicu/nursery, did they "remember" each other ? I feel bad because they are used to each others heartbeats and all.

Re: If your twins were separated at birth bh. Ice
My girls did not need the NICU when they were born. And I did try to keep them with me in the room as much as possible. But one night DH brought them back to the nursery for me (I was having a hard night) and he said when the nurses took them they separated them on opposite sides of the room.
TBH - For us, I don't think it affected their "bond" at all.

my twins were in the NICU and were in different rooms the first few days. the first time we were able to hold each of them we put them in the bassinet together and they cuddled up.

If your twins were separated at birth bh. Ice
One of my twins was in the NICU. They were seperated for 5 days and when we put them together in a crib they cuddled up right away. It was amazing the first few months anytime we had them in the same crib or the pack n play they always somehow moved to be cuddled together. It was always so amazing to me the bond they had. They still are the same way. They have to be right next to each other when they are playing on the floor.

Re: If your twins were separated at birth bh. Ice
my twins were separated for many months. They were born at 27 weeks so they were both in the NICU, but in separate isolettes. DD came home after 70 days, but my son had a lot of complications and was in the hospital for 250 days (8 mths). I worried all the time that they wouldn't have a bond because they were separated for so many months, but it wasn't the case. Since getting our DS home, you can see they have a great bond. DD picks on DS, but when he coughs (part of his respiratory disease) she stops and looks concerned. She even pats him on the back sometime. DS loves DD and just lights up every time he sees her. It's really amazing seeing them together!
Don't worry, they will still have an amazing twin bond even if they have to spend a little time apart!
Best of lluck!

Mine spent a month apart (NICU). When we got them home, we put them side by side, but they didnt really care
They are VERY attached to eachother now. There is an AMAZING bond that I am watching develop and it is SO SWEET and amazing.

Re: If your twins were separated at birth bh. Ice
When they were born they purposely put them in separate rooms in the nicu. Then a few hours later Baby B was taken to another hospital for surgery. They were separated for 3 weeks. When baby b came back to the first hospital and they were put in the same room they made little noises to each other. It was so precious!!!! ok so it sounded like a billy goat, but it was so cute. Then baby A came home first. When baby b came home they made the same noises back and forth to each other. They did this in the house for the first few months they were home and in separate rooms.

Re: If your twins were separated at birth bh. Ice
My girls were in separate NICU rooms for 4 days. One night we had a new nurse who said "This is crazy! I am going to get them moved together" The next feeding when we went down, the girls' incubators were in the same room and I cried! I took tons of pictures of them "sharing their first room." Only a day or so later and they were out of the incubators and sharing an open air crib! It was great to see them cuddled up to each other finally. Against my peds wishes I had them in the same crib until 4 months. It was sad to separate them, but they actually end up sleeping side by side in their separate cribs since our cribs are next to each other.

Re: If your twins were separated at birth bh. Ice
Thanks ladies! This makes me feel so much better that they will still have their bond. I feel so bad for them. My nicu girl isn't sick where I think it would help her but I just feel like they are missing each other.
