Re: I'm at the end of my rope with DH
As Vito Corleone once said to Sonny "Do you spend time with your family...cuz a man who doesn't spend with his family can never be a real man"...
I am so sorry you are going through this. Somtimes I wish my DH would do more in terms of helping out. But then again on the other hand I don't want to leave my son with him because I am afraid of the scene I would find when I come home...A smelly, dirty, and hungry kid... Thats why I thank my lucky stars I have my mother next door...
But I can't complain because when it comes to doing family things he does make a huge effort and we have basically done what I said I wanted to do this summer. If I need anything for the baby he does go out and buy it. So he does helps out in other ways just not in the nitty gritty ways but like I said I am not going to really complain since he does do family things with us. The only time he is busy is during the school year. He is a teacher so it's harder then because he's got stuff to grade and lesson plans to do. So it's very limited what we get to do but he does make up for it during the summer.
I would just make plans and not involved your DH. Let's see how he feels to be left out. Give him a taste of his own medicine...

rather than take a combative approach, i would agree with counseling. it seems like you really want the relationship to work out, for the sake of your son.
good luck and keep us posted. it's so hard, i know...
