I'm crushed!
I had an interview for a company and job I REALLY wanted last Thursday. I thought it went so well. I answered all her questions thoroughly and it seemed like the woman and I connected really well - no awkward breaks or anything. I was so confident I would get the second interview at least. I just got a call from the recruiter who got me the interview and she said that they are not moving forward with me. The woman said I seemed too nervous - which is crazy to me since I didn't feel nervous in the slightest - I felt so great about it. Also - since when does nervousness count you out on a job? Most people are nervous on a first interview.
I am so upset and I feel defeated. I don't know what I could possibly have done differently.
I just needed to get that out. I just want to cry.

Re: I'm crushed!
I'm so soo sorry! I know how hard it is! I've been looking for a job for almost 2 years now... had soo many interviews, and due to being nervous, or my credit not being perfect, they won't move forward with me either. And now it makes me even more nervous b/c I never thought I was nervous. Hope it all works out for you!

Re: I'm crushed!
I am sooo sorry! I TOTALLY know how you feel. I thought I was going to get offered my dream job, and they went with someone else. I was so surprised. The woman even said, "OMG, I love you" in my interview.
Now a few months later, I'm on the shortlist for a job in the field I want, but at an even better company (fingers crossed). So better things come along, even if you don't think that is possible at the time. I was seriously depressed for a few weeks after my rejection. The best thing is to just keep pushing and applying for whatever jobs you see.

Re: I'm crushed!
I think most people are nervous at an interview.
It may be an excuse.
Just know that a lot of times, things go on behind the scenes when it comes to who gets the job, that it may actually have nothing to do with you personally.
I know that I had someone contact me last week who would be a good fit for a job that they were about to offer to someone else at my agency..........I know the powers that be were trying to think their way out of this one because they like this person a lot who inquired randomly out of nowhere.
Also, is there a way you can keep in contact for this employer? I know from experience that a lot of people don't last for very long, for a variety of reasons, and then they may look to fill the position again right away.

Re: I'm crushed!
I would look her up on LinkedIn or e- mail her and send a message like:
Dear So and so,
Thanks again(assuming you sent a thank you) for meeting with me the other day. I was dissapointed to hear from recruiter that you would not be meeting me again. the feedback I received was that I seemed nervous. Though I did not feel that way at all, if I cam across like that it was more excitement because I felt this was a perfect position for me. I feel this because of A, B and C. I would love an opportunity to meet again, if not, I wish you best of luck with your candidate search. Thanks, again, for your time. Can't hurt!
