I'm going to lose my mind
Lilly sleeps in the bed with us and is normally a great sleeper - she'll go right down when we lift the covers for her. For the past 3 nights, Lilly has refused to settle down. She'll go under the covers, turn around a few times (like she usually does right before she flops down) and then come right back up, get out from under the covers, jump off the bed and sit by the door to the bedroom and either bark (she's not a regular barker), whine or growl. It's almost like she's trying to tell us something. We take her out because maybe she has to do her business, but that's never the case. The only time she'll actually settle is if one of us sleeps on the couch in the living room with her. This is getting old quickly. DH and I were both like zombies this morning.
Any suggestions??? I'm at the end of my rope.
eta - she's getting plenty of exercise, so I don't think it's a question of not being tired...

Re: I'm going to lose my mind
Has she ever slept in a crate? Maybe try that. We keep Katie in her crate at night because she wakes us up if she is in bed with us.

She has always slept with us in the bed. She's crated during the day, so we didn't want her to be crated at night as well. Yeah, she's a bit spoiled Maybe we'll try the crate tonight. Should we bring it into the bedroom or leave it where it normally is during the day?

Re: I'm going to lose my mind
Does she have her own bed? We just got Kobie a bed from Orvis so he can leave us alone at night! I love having him in bed with us but he can be such a PITA sometimes!
We bought him the burrow bed a while back. It's great for dogs who like to be under the covers.

Perhaps your house is haunted?

Ya know, you may be onto something here. The woman who owned our house before the people we bought it from actually died in the dining room. She was bed-ridden and that's where her bed was. Lilly has recently started standing in one particular spot in that room and barks her head off for no reason at all. We joke around that when she does this, Mrs. Hoyt is paying us a visit. Perhaps we now have visitors in our bedroom too?
J - I might look into the Orvis bed - she's a burrower and loves to be covered. We do keep a bed for her in the living room, but it's just a large floor-pillow. Maybe we can use the covered one in the bedroom....

Re: I'm going to lose my mind
I would try the crate also, that is usually their "safe place".
Bella just started sleeping with us at night (Yeah I caved in - LOL). She started to not sit still, scratch the bed like a maniac, etc.. but we have taught her to sit in the corner of the bed and lay down and she goes with no problem now.
On nights where she was restless, we would but her in her crate and she would not make a peep.
