I'm having one of those days...
Wake up at 5:45am. Shower, dress, feed baby, prepare her lunch and rush out the door as DH drops me off at the train station within one millisecond of the train arriving. Run, catch train. Arrive at work, 7:20am. Remember that I have to cover an attorney in court. Look up case on system and realize, um, no, case is NOT philadelphia, but NEW JERSEY! Freak out, thinking, how will I get to Vineland New Jersey for a 10am conference?! Spend 20 minutes freaking until I realize the case is in Federal Court, in Camden. Whew, can take train to Camden.
Spend entire morning mapping out how to get to train, what stop I need, and how far it is from the courthouse. Run out the door at 9am, walk 6 blocks in the pouring rain without an umbrella, whilst ruining one of my favorite Ann Taylor suits (where are those damn street vendors who sell umbrellas every day EXCEPT when it's raining?!). Buy my roundtrip ticket, get on train.
Train stops at Camden. Get out of train and try to get out of station but card is reading DEFECTIVE. Call for assistance - they tell me it's working - no it isn't - call again - "it's working" - not it isn't! Decide to jump rail whilst in little skirt that rides all the way up my butt and gives a nice little show as I'm jumping ship.
Walk upstairs - still raining - walk 3 blocks, again, in the rain, when I realize, oops, walking in WRONG direction. Walk another 3 blocks to Federal Courthouse. By this time, I'm almost late, so I'm running to the courthouse - can feel my panythose ripping and running as I'm booking it. Make it to the courthouse sopping wet. Get to Judge's chambers only to be greeted by clerk who tells me one of the other attorneys cannot make it, so they are rescheduling. GREAT.
Turn around and Repeat all that is described above.
Can I go home now???

Sorry you had one of "those" days...I can relate with the millisecond train-catching, I do it every day

Why do people always cancel things last minute? Why didn't the attorney notify you or your office earlier? What an a$$. Hope your day gets better.

What's worst is the attorney "claimed" she couldn't make it because of an accident on the PA turnpike. Yes, well, hubby takes the PA turnpike everyday at that exact time, so I called him up and asked, hey, hubby, is there any kind of horrible backup/accident on the turnpike? I wasn't too suprised at the response - NO

I had one of those. I had to drive out to Riverhead for a court conference. Since I live in CT and I'd have to leave by 6 am to get there on time, I stayed overnight at my parents' house on LI and borrowed my dad's car. When one of the attorneys still hadn't shown up 1/2 hour after he was supposed to, we called his office and found out that "his secretary must've written down the wrong date" and he can't make it. I had to drive back the following week for the conference. I don't understand how people are so inconsiderate.
