I'm paranoid about eating at a restaurant!

I have to go out to dinner with work tonight and I'm having serious anxiety about what to get... Any suggestions? I was thinking a salad with grilled shrimp (it's not on the menu but I have no issue asking for it)...

I'll even attach the menu in the hopes that someone will literally tell me what to order..lol

I would get a small fish dish and then either a salad or a vegetable dish.

Re: I'm paranoid about eating at a restaurant!

If you like shrimp you can ask for grilled shrimp with pasta in a marinara sauce (a lot of them have whole wheat also if you ask).

My go to meal for Italian is salad with grilled chicken, dressing on the side (I don't like fish).

I used to have anxiety but I promise it gets easier the more you go and realize you can enjoy life and lose weight at the same time Chat Icon

Re: I'm paranoid about eating at a restaurant!

Honestly.. I'd rather eat home....

Dinner was a mess... the chef refuses to make any changes to the menu, so I couldn't get a simple salad with grilled chicken, or grilled shrimp. I couldn't get it on the side...I couldn't even get my salad without the dressing. I even played the food allergy card and the waiter told me to order something else Chat Icon

I ended up taking teeny tiny bites of random things...salad, this shrimp and chic pea dish... we all shared. Then I had 1 and 1/2 slices of the thinest smallest margarita brick oven pizza I've ever seen Chat Icon (i figured that had the least cheese and was safest.)

I left starving with NO idea of how many points I ate. Now i'm paranoid about weigh-in on Saturday!

This place is sooo much better when I'm not worried about points! Chat Icon

Yikes!! I'm sorry you had a terrible experience. I hope this doesn't deter you from going out in the future. Most restaurants are more than accommodating. I would never go back to a restaurant that treated me this way - you should enjoy what you are paying for!
