I'm pretty upset...

My Dh has Thursdays off and every other Sunday. Well the past two Thursdays, he's been having his cousins over and they overextend their stay by a few hours. I got really pi$$ed at him and said...this Sunday (today) I want to spend it with you and that's it. He said fine.

Saturday night (yesterday) he has the same people over and they're talking about how they're all going to the gym tomorrow to play racketball...early. I thought, fine he's going early in the morning..he'll be back early and we'll have the rest of the day together.

Does everyone see the time I'm posting this? It's 2:00 and he's still not home...he left at 9:30 this morning.

The smoke is coming out of my ears as I type this. I know that if I complain to him, it's going to go nowhere. But don't you want to be with your family on your day off?

I would be fuming also. You have every right to be upset and should say something to him. Maybe just try to do it calmly (that would be hard for me though).

First Chat Icon Chat Icon Seond you have every right to be upset about this.

I think you need to say to him as calmly as humanly possible that you're disappointed that he doesn't value family time as much as you. (I realize this is a major understatment). I find fighting while I'm angry to be a complete waste of both of our times -since the minute I start out, he tunes me out. So recently I've decided to be more manipulative & use the more calm, disappointed method.

Good luck! Chat Icon Chat Icon

My girlfriend called me.. her boyfriend is with them...(at least he called) and they're coming home now...

I'm going to try the calm disappointed method instead of flying off the handle...Chat Icon

Re: I'm pretty upset...

honestly- welcome to my world- Dh spends so much time with his brother I sometimes feel like Im intruding on THEIR relationship-its been like this since we met though and its a losing battle to argue about it, I though when we had a baby it would be different but no such thing. Luckily his brother also has a baby so at least we hang out in a group more often.

Re: I'm pretty upset...

Well I laid on the silent guilt pretty good for him. When he got home he was like...."What do you need to do...where do you want to go....I'm sorry...blah blah blah..."

I told him that I was disappointed in him and that he should apologize to Jared for not spending more time with him.

Chat Icon Yeah I laid the guilt pretty thick and it worked....
