thanks everyone! its nice to know i'm not alone (although i wish this on noone).
i'll give it another week or 2 and hopefully it will get better otherwise i'll call my dr back.
Genna how was it with the nanny today? i think its a great idea but i dont know if we can afford one
You are so not alone and what you're going through is so normal (although I know it feels so awful and lonely it's hard to call it normal). Can you try to take a shower...I found that this was the 15 minutes I had to myself each day that I could take care of myself and feel somewhat "normal" (well, at least clean and awake!). I also agree w/making one night totally DH's so you have a break. Just go to sleep it will do wonders for you. The first few times I did this I couldn't get screaming baby sounds out of my head and thought I was going nuts. But eventually I did sleep and it was sooo needed. It WILL get better I promise!!!

Re: I'm so sad
You've gotten great advice on this thread already and I totally agree with your Dr. It may be still too soon to say it's definitely PPD although it does sound like you are headed down that road if you don't start feeling better soon.
I don't know if you had a v-birth or C/S but if you are able to get the okay from your Dr - try some exercise. Even if it's just bundling the baby up and going for a brisk walk. If you are allowed to, maybe start a light Pilates DVD at home. Take it easy, of course, but exercise can do wonders for your mood.
Feel better.
