DHs step grandmother gave us 2 sets of hand knitted booties that her mother made when she was 90. DHs step grandma is in her 80s (her mother has been long gone). The booties were not made FOR DS.
It is so thoughtful but what am I going to do with them? I am def one to save things that are sentimental, but I have no attachment to these. I feel like they are going to just be one of those things you hold onto for 50 years, moving it from one place to another just to keep it. They are not something I would ever have DS use.
What do you do with things like this? Do you hold onto them, get rid of them? I feel so guilty that I dont want them and kinda just want to throw them out, but cant bring myself to do it.

I'd try to find someone on that side of the family who might want something made by their great (or great-great?) grandmother. I wouldn't feel much connection to a step-grandparent's family heirloom either, but would love something like that to hand down in my own family.

I wouild absolutely stick them in a shoe box and hold on to them - someone may cherish them one day
