I'm Upset--- Someone Copied My Tattoo!
im mad and upset.......
i was on the phone with my friend who im going to visit and she was saying how back when i first got my quote tattoo on my arm (i had a pic of it on my myspace) her friend kept saying how she really liked it.....
well, she saw her friend change and guess what.... she got THE SAME EXACT tattoo!!! same words, same spot, same font!
i am so upset because that tat has such special meaning to me.
the song is important to me and who i am today.... and i searched days for that font..
why would someon do that?
she never told my friend she got it.
im soooo upset. i sent her a message on myspace saying "i heard you copied my tattoo"
i wonder if/what she will reply

That is very strange for someone to do and it would bother me too but think of it this way... it is STILL special to you even if everyone had it.

you know how many other people who've seen your myspace page, have probably copied your tattoo as well? it has a special meaning to YOU, that's all that should matter

i never REALLY post pics of certain ones... and if i do i only post them on HERE .... for fear of ppl copying them.
this one just has a special meanign to me and i dunno, im just upset over it.
i know ill get over it. id prefer i didnt knw she had it i guess.

I'd be upset too, ayone who has tatoos knows they are personal and for sentimental reasons, of course others may have the same tatoo, but to know EXACTLY who has it is upsetting. Can you add a little something to it Jess to change it up a bit?

I agree. The meaning it holds for you is not lost just because someone else copied you. In fact, I think walking around with a tattoo like what you described WITHOUT personal significance is kinda silly, so try not to stress over it.

i personally feel it lessens the centimental value for me.
i cant help it, it just does.
i cant wait to see what she writes back though.
im not going to be mean, im jujst goign to say "what made you copy it?" "what meaning does it hold for you?" "have you ever heard the song?" "did you even know it is from a song?"
"and the same spot and font too huh?"
im just going to tell her how lame i htink she is and let her know im insulted and hurt she did that.
i mean, i am her friends BEST FRIEND!

I can see why you are upset, especially considering all the thought you put in to the artwork and the meaning it holds for you.
Some people are just not capable to be that creative, or philosophic about their lives and they look outward for inspiration inward.
Something you spent time to create has inspired another person so deeply that they chose to have it permanently on their body... just another way to look at it.
I agree. I don't think her copying you should cause you to feel any less connected to your tattoo. It is obviously something you put alot of thought into and means alot to you.
Really I think it is sad that that girl would get something so permanent that she stole from you, and doesn't really have true meaning to her. It would be one thing if she just liked the font/style, but to copy the entire think. That is weird

That would upset me too. Will you see this girl when you are in Cali? I know I designed mine for me and for personal meaning that only I know. Who knows what people think.It's still special for you and I hope that bytch didn't take that away from you

I'll bet she never even thought she would see you face to face! You have a good head on your shoulders so I know you will handle it the best way possible

and honestly, i don't see how it loses the sentimental value for you if a random person has the same ink as you. they have no clue what it means, but they liked yours, so they got the same or something similiar.
