I think things happen for a reason, but this is NOT the same as thinking that 'if something is meant to be, it will happen." I believe you need to work to earn things - not that you are predestined to receive or not receive certain things.

This is what I believe. I think things happen for a reason...because we have laid the groundwork for it, not b/c some supreme being is controlling "destiny".

I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason, and there is little we can do to change the outcome.
So I guess I also believe that everthing is predetermined when we are born....our path is set!
There MAY be different paths based on our decisions, but it is all pretty much laid out "somewhere"....

I agree. I think the paths are out there for us to take but it is up to us to decide which ones we're going to take.
So to some extent destiny plays a roll but we also have control over it.

I am a firm believer in everything happening for a reason, although sometimes we have a hard time understanding why. I think a lot of times ( especially when it is something bad) it is to teach us some kind of lesson.
