late 4months/into 5 months-or 6
i personally think the earlier the better. not for a little newborn obviously. but don't wait too long when they can really manipulate and are older. JMO
we did it w/ DD at almost 5 months. worked great.

My ped said to try at 5 months....
We did, he so wasn't ready. CIO didn't work for us until he was 1 year old.
I sort of wish we just had waited, it caused me a lot of stress in between.

i started ds with cio in the middle of the night at 4 1/2 months... more because dh switched to working nights and it was getting exhausted... but not majorly cio... what i actually did was when ds woke up i would go to the bathroom prior to tending to him.. and i found he started falling back asleep....
full fledge cio started at 5 1/2 months

In my opinion, I think 8 months is the earliest I would start. I'm not a big fan of CIO though.

Between 4 and 5 months. This is when I did CIO. DS is on such a good schedule now and can be put in his crib awake, and he puts himself to sleep.

5 months for us. we suffered a lot with sleep between 4 and 5 months but i wasn't ready and i don't think DS was either.

I waited till a year to try it. never did it again, broken crib and he jumped out creating a worse mess for me.
