Induction

I am 39w 3d, Kofinas/Miller patient. Kofinas doesn't like his patients to go past their due dates so it is being suggested that I induce on Thursday (I am high risk for thrombophilia). I am 3-4cm dilated and >80% effaced, baby is extremely low and in position so Dr Miller thinks I'll go on my own very soon anyway but that induction would be successful and only take 3-5 hrs total since I have already made progress on my own (not sure how it could be so short for a first time mom!). However, I have heard scary things about being induced and can't help feeling like I want everything to be as natural as possible, but I want to do what is best for the baby. Any opinions?

Re: Induction

Yes - my opinion is that with the current state that you're in, you have an excellent chance at a successful induction! I would not panic. Chat Icon

Yes you totally sound like a good candidate for an induction since you have made good progress on your own. Try to walk as much as possible before then so you can progress more on your own

I was successful induced. A was barely dilated and maybe like 80% effaced. Went in the morning and dd as born the same day that night. You sound like a good candidate for it.

Same here - except I was 1-2 inches dilated (depending on the Dr and I had a DS).
