Infant carriers, strollers, and more...

I'm starting to research the big items before I start registering next month and I'm overwhelmed by the stroller category.

Which infant carrier and stroller(s) did you/are you using? Is it a travel system, full stroller, umbrella stroller, etc. What do you like about it? Dislike about it?

Thanks for your help!!Chat Icon

Re: Infant carriers, strollers, and more...

I've had three stollers in the first year.

1) Kolcraft Universal Car Seat Carrier -- GREAT for the first 4 months when baby was asleep in the car and I wanted to run some errands! A nice big basket and easy to push.

2) Mountain Buggy Urban Single -- Amazing stroller if you take long walks outside. I LOVE this stroller. It has big wheels and can push over anything (I've taken it out in 6 inches of snow and on gravel paths and it was a gentle ride for the baby). Too heavy though to get in and out of the car regularly.

3) Maclaren Quest -- My car stroller, really light and easy to get in and out of the car, but only good to use inside or on really well paved sidewalks because the wheels are small.

I used an infant car seat/snap 'n' go & had a Peg Perego stroller. The Peg has a foot board that your toddler can stand on, while the infant is in the stroller (not idea for long walks).

Later I added 2 used double strollers from garage sales (one sit & stand, the other double seats). We bought an umbrella stroller when we were in the city & Joseph didn' t feel like walking.

I am still using the graco car seat and graco snap and go, which I love.

I did not want a travel system because the stroller were too heavy.

I have the peg perego aria for when she is out of the carrier, which I can't comment on because I haven't used it yet.

I have the Pliko 3 stroller and Primo Viaggo carrier from Peg Pergo. I like it because it is light compared to the other travel systems, both items are 18lbs each I believe. The only thing I do not like about the carrier is that when it is in the base and when you put it on the floor it is it not reclined like the Graco snug ride so it seems like the baby sits more upright. When you put the carrier in the stoller you do have two options on how to lock it in more upright or more reclined.

I did not like the travel system. I had the Graco Quattro. If I had it to do over again I would do snap and go and get a nice lightweight stroller for when the baby was out of the infant seat.
I have the Peg Perego Aria MT and I love, love, love it.
