inflatable tub or bathseat/ring?

DS has this bathtub now
External Image
and I love it but he is getting bigger and doesnt need that piece to keep him sitting up anymore

I do not feel comfortable putting him in the tub without anything, even with those mats on he bottom. Even though he can sit up on is own I do not want to chance a slip. DS also likes the water level higher and loves to grab his toys and play.

I was looking at the seat/ring but I feel like it wold be hard for him to grab and play with his toys. Also, I think I remember reading in baby bargains that they weren't that safe.

I was thinking of getting an inflatable like this

What do you think? seat or inflatable and any specific ones you recommend?

TIA

Re: inflatable tub or bathseat/ring?

we had a lounge chair type seat for DS when he was that age. So easy and no ring so it's not hard to get to all the nooks and crannies Chat Icon Chat Icon

ETA - I thought the ring would be hard to clean all the time. The lounge chair folds and you can remove the fabric and throw it in the wash

I was thinking about one of these inflatable tubs also, but some of them have really bad reviews from what I read on Amazon. They slip and slide all over the tubs.
I'd like to know what others are using also...

I was thinking this would work better and I would just leave it inflated at all times. I like that he could move around but has the cushioning.

The inflatable tub is the best! DD is 16 months and we still use it and will for a while. We use less water than filling the regular bathtub and it's cushioned, comfy and easy to clean.

We use this one by Leachco:

for some reason Mason loved it and stayed still so we used it as long as we could. Maybe 5 mons to about 10 - 11 months. Now I have the rubber mat on the bottom and he sits on that. I put it on the side when we're done so it drys and clean it with the lysol wipes

Re: inflatable tub or bathseat/ring?

They make bigger plastic tubs as the one you ad now. I forget who makes it but its like twice the size. If you go into BRU, you can't miss it, if they still sell it. I wasn't a fan of inflatable and wasn't ready for her to be in the tub.

I remember seeing this one back when I registered...it was the #1 pick in Baby Bargains, but I thought it was way too big. Now that my guy is so big I might consider it though...Eurobath

Re: inflatable tub or bathseat/ring?

We have the same tub- after DS grew out of the infant sling I put him right in the sitting up position. He does great and can play with all his toys. If I put him in the recline position, he's slipping all over the place. Try that first and see how he does.

Re: inflatable tub or bathseat/ring?

We have an inflatable tub by kirby and we love it! I also do not want to put him in the tub alone even though he can sit up on his own, since can be a maniac. Chat Icon

We struggled to find a decent tub and then stumbled upon that one. As soon as he went in it I was relieved b/c he is 100% safe in it and he can flail around all he wants. Sometimes, he even lounges back with his arms on the side like he is in a hot tub, lol.

We have this one.
