info on kids immune systems and allergies
an allergist my mom works for has been saying for years that why there are so many allergies are that we live in too clean of an environment - not used to dirt
this I think also goes with food allergies- with no family - give the food earlier is better

That's one of the reasons why when people tell me to keep the dog and cats away from my LO I ignore them. As long as they are not lying on her face they are free to touch her and vice versa. Germs are good. Also people are antibiotic happy so they stop working and then all of us have to get stronger ones for them to work.

Re: info on kids immune systems and allergies
While I agree with the idea of being too "germaphobic" and under exposing kids to dirt/germs can lead to more allergies and sickness I find this article really confusing.
Especially this paragraph:
"Routine childhood vaccinations also contribute to the emergence of chronic allergic problems such as eczema, ear infections, and asthma. However, most vaccinated children come from households with lower incomes, which may support the theory that hygiene and their environment may indeed be a greater contributing factor of childhood allergies than perhaps vaccinations"
Later on they do say most people who choose not to vaccinate come from higher income families, but I would think only a small portion don't vaccinate.

low income generally means they are in a 'system' Most systems require vaccination as a mandatory level of acceptance (for health, daycare, school). higher income families can either have SAHM/D or bypass some of those requires by avoidance or choose to go to private schools. All things a lower income can not afford.
Im not super low income but i was required to give my daughter more vaccinations at earlier times than I would prefer due to financial pressure. Do this or go somewhere else.. (generally much more expensive).
So i can see it.
Then again my kid is vaccinated and has cats in her live and STILL has seasonal allergies and ezcema! LOL Just is what it is. Oh AND she had ear infections etc.
Not afraid of germs here. Don't WANT her to go without washing her hands in a public bathroom but won't cringe if she touches the door, seat or handles. She MUST wash her hands, use a towel to grab the handle and door AFTERwards. She can sit on a store floor (she doesn't put her hands in her mouth) she can roll around at a ball pit. Germs won't kill her. Moderation if you will
