For my DS's baby book I just used a washable non-toxic stamp pad that I got from Michael's. When I was done it wiped right off with a baby wipe.

You could just use non toxic paint. They paint DD's hands and feet all the time at daycare for arts & crafts.

I tried this w/tempura paint when DD was 2 months old & it wasn't easy. I did my best but its sort of smeared in her baby book & I didn't realize the paint was non-washable so it was really hard getting it off her hands.

The ink pad came with the kit that I got at my shower.
