Anyone have any insomnia remedies? I have tried melatonin, tea, Advil pm, Benadryl but nothing seems to help. I'm not sleeping about 4 nights a week. I know part of it is me and that I keep thinking but I keep thinking because I can't sleep,

I suffer with it sometimes.

I find deep relaxation and listening to a tape works.

You can download an app.

Also...Do you drink coffee or caffeine? I drink a ton of coffee which aggravates my sleep.

Insomnia

I'd see a dr. Maybe even a psychologist/psychiatrist to get some meds. Not sleeping for that long can really be dangerous to your health!

I've had insomnia for the past 5 years. It hit me right around age 38 and has not gone away. Over the counter meds never did anything, so I saw my doctor who prescribed a sleep aid. I'm not happy about having to take it because of the bad rap sleeping pills get. But sleeping is way better than going days and days without any. I cannot function when I haven't slept at all.

I'm blaming it all on menopause and stress.

Insomnia

I've been taking .5 mg of ambien (actually generic zolpidem) on and off for a while.
My regular dr rx'd it, and I feel great and well-rested in the am.
I never ever feel "hungover" or tired the next day. I never use an alarm, and wake up on my own daily by 6am. Def recommend it. I had terrible insomnia at certain times the last few yrs.

Re: Insomnia

Try a glass of warm milk (milk contains tryptophan) A muscle relaxing effectors. Even Lavender has a reputation as a mild tranquilizer. Try not to nap during the day, no matter how tired you feel. Avoid caffeinated beverages, particularly within four hours of bedtime and also avoid Smoking before bed hours.
