Interior Decorators
How much is it to really work with someone?
I am not talking about an all out design, but someone to maybe help you pick colors and give you ideas... So, maybe like a consultation or two-- then you go off and do it on your own.

Re: Interior Decorators
Usually at a consultation you don't get ideas, its more for the decorator to get a feel for what you want
YHL offers a design board service I think its $200 for the entire room. they design it and give you a visual of everything then you buy it all yourself and install. I know they do it on a very limited basis
there are other companies out there that do it too

Re: Interior Decorators
Mine charged $150 consultation fee. She was worth every cent. She spent a few hours with me going over every thing and gave me some awesome ideas. My initial plan was to have her come to do just that and then go on my merry way but she ended up being a necessity. She was amazing. She took me shopping, etc. and stayed in my budget. Because I ended up hiring her, she credited a part of the initial consultation fee when she gave me my final bill.
