intro

Hello ladies,

I also posted on the TTC family forum, but I would like to also introduce myself here.

We are new to LI, moved to Nassau's North Shore from the city, thinking that we are ready to start the family and need more space. Now it's just 2 of us, bouncing off the walls in the place too big for us, a depressing reminder that we are still TTC for over 3.5 years with no THB.

I am very excited to have found this site, this is amazing how many of us are having similar experiences, and I am so happy we can all support each other in this, as we cannot always count on our families or friends to understand what we are going through.

RE: SIRM - Dr. Wang (love love love!)
RI: Kwak-Kim in Chicago

Infertility Diagnosis:
after 5 "textbook" IUIs, my RMA RE pushed me for an IVF, although I felt I wanted further testing to address immune issues (I have Crohn's, Hashimoto's that started as Graves in 2001). However, RMA doesn't believe in immune issues, so even if they tested me, they would not offer me any treatments, hence enter SIRM-NY.
Immune testing showed high NKa and Th1/Th2 cytokines, tried treating with ILs and IVIG, prednisone and even tried Neupogen, with no success. After the last IVF in June'13, none of the embies made it past day 3, and DH's SA showed worsened DNA fragmentation (25%), so he had a DH varicocele repair in 8/13.
During the last early m/c, I realized that while I can have immune monitoring through my RE for the first trimester, I will have nobody else for the rest of 9M, so I became Dr. Kwak-Kim's patient, with remote monitoring.
Addl immune workup findings: Heterozygous mutations: b-fibrinogen, PAI-1, C677T, so need Metanx and Lovenox as well.
We did a natural IUI this cycle (November '13) however, my E2 was barely a 100 at LH surge, and my RE thinks it represents lousy egg quality. I am already on a long list of supps including CoQ10, DHEA, pycnogenol, fish oil, so there is not much else that can be done to improve eggs :( With my stimms, I am usually on 450iu FSH and Menopur, and yet we don't get more than 8-10 eggs retrieved.

ART methods used/result:
Natural BPF - 7/10 m/c @5w3d (while on Prednisome for Crohn's flare), 7/12 chemical
5 IUIs (Aug-Nov 2011) with RMA: BFN
Switched clinic to SIRM-NY, added immune protocol:
IVF#1 2/12 – 5dt - BFN
IVF#2 9/12 - ectopic: D&C, MTX x2;
IVF#3 3/13 - 3dt - BFN
FET#1 4/13 - 3 blasts - m/c @ 5w
IVF#4 6/13 - nothing to transfer, embies died off by day 5
IUI #6 11/13 -- ???

Any other children (if yes, how conceived): NO :(

ok, off to catch up on the threads and get to know you! :)

Re: intro

Welcome, Julia!

We have been trying since March 2010, after 5 failed IUIs and one failed fresh cycle, we finally, finally got a positive beta from a frozen embryo transfer.

We were dx'ed with slight MF and I suspect I have implantation issues along with advanced maternal age, since I'm a week away from 39.

It's been a long road for many of us, so you will certainly get a lot of support and encouragement. The women here are super knowledgeable.

4w1d the pee just dried on the stick yesterday. Chat Icon My Re did a frozen embryo transfer to time implantation better, I guess it worked.

I go for my repeat beta tomorrow.

intro

thank you so much, ladies!!!

Joanne -- what was the first beta? GL tomorrow!

babyfever24 -- I absolutely love Dr.Wang! I started as Dr.Browne's patient in Westchester, just to bee seen faster, but had all my monitoring in the city, and then switched to Wang after the first time he did my monitoring. I must admit, I might have my doubts about their embryo lab (or maybe it's not the lab but truly crappy eggs on my side and I am in denial, lol), but he makes it all worth it -- gives so much attention and always available and accommodating.
