introducing rice cereal
We plan on starting DD on cereal this weekend and the doc said 2x a day...morning and evening. At what times did you give the 1st and then 2nd serving of cereal in the very beginning?

Re: introducing rice cereal
they say to give it to them about a 1/2 hour before you now that they are going to be hungry b/c since its new you dont want them to be starving so if DC is not on a schedule for when he/she wakes up you can give her formula/BM and then 2 1/2 later try the cereal... that is what i did...
It is true if you wait for when they are hungry they will never eat it

Re: introducing rice cereal
I usually give it to them at the 10am feeding and then again at the 4 o'clock feeding.

Re: introducing rice cereal
I did it half way between feedings. For example, DD ate at 6PM & 8PM, (she is BF) so I gave her cereal at 7PM.

Re: introducing rice cereal
i give DD her cereal during her second feeding of the day (10 or 11ish) and then dinner time (7ish). I usually give her 2 ounces of formula and then give her the cereal and then she finishes the bottle after. If you do it at normal feeding time DC will be too hungry and get frustrated...that's why i give her alittle formula first.

Re: introducing rice cereal
DS nurses when he gets up at 6am, so we do cereal at 7am.....he goes to bed at 6pm, so we do dinner around 4:30-5. So for us, meals are always in between nursing sessions
