iphone or something else?
So DH decided to get me a smart phone for Christmas but he didn't want to just get me anything he wants me to pick. So...iphone or galaxy? Any others I should consider (we use verizon).
What phone do you have and love and why? What would you not get?

I have the iphone, and have for just over a year. I personally love it. If I had it to do over again, I would still get an iphone, but wih more memory.

We just got the galaxy s 3. Love it! I am not a big techie though. But the guy in verizon said the S3 was a better phone and the guy in best buy, where we bought it bc it was $100 cheaper than verizon store, also said he had the ipone 5 and after a week decided to trade for the galaxy s3

DH and I have the Galaxy S3 and love it. I don’t know too much about phones, but DH does and he previously had the iphone. He says he likes the Galaxy waaaaay better.

I had a Droid X and loved it. Upgraded to the iPhone and I didn't like it, returned it and got the Galaxy 3S and I looooooove it. I thought the iPhone screen was so small and I was just disappointed in it overall. I am in love with my Samsung, so glad I returned the iPhone.

i used to have a droid phone and it was ok but i LOVE my iphone. no question. we got DD a tablet that is droid based (its a kids one but has an adult mode that is full featured) and it doesn't hold a candle to the ipad. IMO Apple products just have the best apps available earlier than droid based. the only annoying thing is if you arent really an iTunes or apple product user and you have to set all of that stuff up its annoying at first. but once its set up IMO its superior.

i had 2 droids (not the galaxy) and hated the system, the batteries died so easily, so i got the iPhone 5 and i LOVE it

I just got the I-phone 5 and LOVE it. I upgraded from my old 4.
Its fast. I didnt want to go on the net with the 4. I use the net ALL the time with he 5. Pages load quick. Everything loads quickly.
I ahve not used the galaxy, so I can't speak to that. But the 5 is awesome!

Thanks guess we have to go to the store and test them out. Never bothered with the smart phones so I am really not sure what I want. The phone I have now I main just text and take photos and videos. Is one better than the other for that? Also which one has better programs/apps?

iphone! The apps and ease of getting them over an android system is much better IMO.

I have the galaxy s3 and love it! Dh just got the iPhone 5 and loves It also.I don't think you can go wring either way.

I have the Galaxy and the camera sucks. The pictures come out fuzzy or over/under exposed. DH's Droid takes much better pictures.
I'll use my DSLR for pictures.
Other than that, I like the Galaxy.

Other than that, I like the Galaxy.
I use my good camera for real photos but sometimes on a playdate, or when we are out the girls want a photo so I use the camera. I don't use it for photos I care about but I hate carrying my good camera to a bounce place or playground.

I got the galaxy a few days ago and love it. It's on sale for 129 at Costco. 200 at Verizon.

I went from a Droid X to an iPhone 4S to an iPhone 5.
I loved my Droid when I had it and never would've gone the iPhone route had I not received it as a gift.
Now I'll never go back! I am 100% an iPhone girl lol.

DH has an iPhone from work and a Samsung smartphone for personal use (not sure which one specifically). He much prefers the Samsung, as do the kids when they are using a phone to play games on.
I don't have a smartphone but think I'm going to upgrade to either the Samsung Galaxy S III or the Samsung Galaxy Note when I'm due for an upgrade in about a month.

Never played with an iphone but I love my galaxy! I love the larger screen. I find this phone really easy to use. Even my almost 3 year old can navigate though it.. he takes pictures, scrolls through them, can find "his" apps & play them.

I agree. I feel like the iPhone is more user friendly and just quicker and easier to use.
