Is a size 5 shoe average for a 15 month old?
Just wondering....I had bought her size 4's in the Pedipeds but we just had her sized at Stride Rite and she was a 5.

I don't know I think probably - DD is a 4.5 W but borderline for size 5 now at 17.5 months - and whenever we go to stride rite they keep telling me what small feet she has.

I think my DD was around a 4.5. But her feet starting growing really fast from that point on- She is now a 7 at 23 months old.

Stride Rite's measuring things are off or something because DD measured a 5 and 5's are huge on her. I'm not sure what a 4 is in Pedipeds, but DD just grew out of the 12-18 month size.

I think it is about average for my friends who have DDs. My DS is 16 months and wears a 6 1/2 W. My two brothers wear a 15 EEEE and a 14 1/2 EEEE. DH wears a 9 1/2 M, I wear a 10 M. I think DS takes after my side of the family.

When we bought DS new shoes at 16 months he was an 8W in his shoes and an 8-1/2 in the Nike sneakers.  (He still fits comfortably into the shoes at 19-1/2 months.)

I goofed...they are a Pedipeds size 12-18 months. But she still has room in them! When the lady put her size 5 Stride Rite's on, she had at least 3/4" room and they look so big! But she said this is the amount you want.

SR sized DD at a size 5 at 12 months.  We bought them and they are HUGE.......She wore them once, and kept tripping so we'll start wearing them when they fit.

FYI, the guy at Stride Rite said there should be a thumb-size "gap" between the toe and the end of the shoe (which seemed big to me, but clearly, what do I know!?  )

Yes-that's what the sales lady told us too. But they do look large! I will see when I put them on her again tomorrow.

Brooke wears size 6 now at 14 months old
Kaitee was in a size 5 from 13 months til 17 or 18 months.

DD is 14 months and a size 4 at Stride Rite. We bought her sneakers in Oct., and brought her back in over the weekend to have them re-checked. She started walking on thanksgiving, so we wanted to make sure they were still the proper fit, and they were.

Don't ask me - DS has big feet! At 14.5 months he was a size 6 1/2 At 12 months he was a 6W! At least he's not wide anymore  In fact, at one year his feet were too big for the soft early walker shoes!

DD is 15 months and in a 5.5 W
She's in the 95th percentile for height so it wouldn't surprise me if her shoe size is a bit bigger than other kids her age.

Yeah, I'd say that's about what DD was. Right now at 18 months she's a 5.5 or 6 W.

At 13 months Sydney was a 3.5 wide at Stride Rite...I'm not positive what she is now at 16 months - she still fits into the original 3.5 from SR though. She's pretty small to begin with though - she's still mainly wearing her 6-12 month clothes and at her doctor's visit a few weeks ago she was only 18 lbs! So she's not average.

When we bought Caden his first shoes at Stride Rite he was about 13 months...they had us get a size 6 extra wide. He has a very high instep and needed the room...but if it werent for that he still had room in a 5.
