Is anyone here familiar with Latin? Tattoo related.
In honor of my son, I decided to get a tattoo! This is huge for me because getting a tattoo is something I never thought I would do (For many reasons.).. but whatever. I decided to get one because I found something tasteful that I really like & has a significant meaning to me.
Here is the pic: Obviously not the chain, but the silhouette of a mother & child.
Now, to make it perfect, I want to write something on the bottom in Latin.
I want it to either say: Numera Vestra Bona - Which translates to "Count Your Blessings"
or
A Donum Deo - Which translates to "A Gift From God"
My question is for those who are really familiar with Latin... Is this the correct translation for these phrases? I know that there are so many variations for these phrases & no one really knows "proper" Latin. However, I want to make sure that those who are familiar with the language can comprehend it.

I'm thinking Donum Dei rather than Deo.
I need to go back and check my text books now! My gf teaches Latin these days so I'll run it by her as well.
Just out of sheer curiosity.. why did you want the phrase in Latin? That image and sentiment are both beautiful!

I can't help you with the translation, but i wanted to say that image looks like it would make a beautiful tattoo - just be sure you research artists very carefully before getting that done. You want someone who specializes in black/grey work (i'm assuming you're not looking at color)
good luck!
