It's really hit or miss. You could have gorgeous weather or it could be cold/rainy. Personally I'd have it indoors.

My ds bday is in April also. I have aalways been to afraid to plan an outdoor party. Last year we planed a small party for indoors and it turned out to be beautiful. I was too afraid that if I invited more people we would have al been stuck inside.

DD's b-day is 4/22. It was chilly and rainy when we brought her home from the hospital. I think I am going to do a smaller/more manageable party at home and do it a couple weeks later on May 1, even though the weather will still be a crap shoot.

I would knowing we can accommodate everyone inside in case of inclement weather...
Same thing... I would have to try to keep the invite list down.
ETA: I'm not sure how expensive it is, but family member rented a heated tent (with ground covering and all), for about 50 one Easter when it fell in March...it was awesome! Turned out to be a nice day weather wise anyway.
