is buying resale concert tix safe?
I haven't been to a concert in a while and my husband wants to see something at Jones Beach this summer (Joan Jett/Cheap Trick). When I go to jonesbeach.com - they link to a resale site but I can't pick my seats. When I went to Ticketmaster, it linked to livenation.com and there are resale tickets plus regular tickets (that are further away).
Is it safe to buy resale tickets through these companies?

Stubhub, Live Nation resale or Ticketmaster resale - yes.
Craigslist - no.
Jonesbeach.com - I have no idea.

Exactly this. I know people who have had no problem with Craiglist but I wouldn't chance it.

I've heard of a rash of people lately being given fake tickets thru Stubhub. The event is always sold out so Stubhub just shrugs, gives you your money back and penalizes the sellers. But the sellers just popup again under a different name.
Considering that I'd put Live nation or Ticketmaster on the top of the list of yes with Stubhub third.

Oh wow - I had no idea about that. At least the customer gets their money back (unlike CL...with many ticket resale a on CL you may as well just flush your money down the toilet) but that still sucks a big one!

I recently bought concert tix on TickPick.com. Got a better deal than on StubHub plus no additional fees). I was a little nervous because I hadn't heard of it before, but I did some research and everything seemed legit. Didn't have any problems when we went to the show

Re: is buying resale concert tix safe?
i've bought through stubhub for sporting events and sold my Justin Timberlake tickets through there ( ) and it was totally fine.
im a bit dismayed with stubhub b/c as soon as Adele tix went on sale, they get listed on stubhub for 6x the face value.
same with Peter Gabriel / Sting. I got tix on the presale, but as im looking on live nation I have stub hub open as well and I can clearly see the seats bough in xx row/xx seats go right up on stub hub for 3x the price. Its insane.
