Is it normal to be really panic stricken before switching jobs?

I have been wanting to leave this job for so long, and worked so hard to be able to get out and go somewhere else...

so why am I so full of anxiety?

and why is my office now treating me like I'm some sort of pariah?

Its depressing Chat Icon

I'm just going thru anxiety - and mostly it has to do with the stupid paperwork for the new job - does that make sense?

It's totally normal to feel a little anxious when starting a new job. As far as the treatment at your current job, that's often

Yup, completely normal. I always go through this even if I know my decision is the "right" one.

I always get the "what if's". I also think that it's normal for us to lean towards something we have a routine at and even if it's a bad environment, we are still somewhat "comfy" at.

Prior to starting my current job, I was totally mislead about that place I accepted a position at for 8 months, so I was a fanatic about where I would take a job at after that.

its normal to be nervous. you're leaving the familiar for something unfamiliar. Just remember that you're on to bigger and better!!!! Chat Icon

as for your office, i never understood that behavior. my office treated me like that too. my dad, who is a biz owner, told me that leaving a job (even though you've done nothing wrong obviously) is sometimes like a big punch in the stomach to the head honchos, especially if you've been there a lot time. maybe it has something to do with that?
