Re: Is it true no more Kohl's cash after Aug 1?

I think it is only for expired cash which was at the store's discretion. Found this while googling- "A company wide policy has just changed regarding accepting expired Kohl’s cash. As of August 1st, it is the new policy that no store will be allowed to accept expired Kohl’s cash. Apparently the company was losing money because many people discovered that when they used their expired Kohl’s Cash coupon, the cashier had to manually enter a “dollar transaction discount” which is not recognizable on the original receipt.” To translate: This means if a customer makes a $500 purchase, and earns $100 Kohl’s cash. Once their Kohl’s Cash coupon expires, they use it to buy $100 worth of merchandise. They then take their original $500 purchase and return it for a full $500 refund. Therefore “working the system” as they call it. I had no idea Kohl’s even accepted expired coupons until a cashier volunteered this info at check out when I mentioned that I had $10 expired. I rarely shopped at Kohl’s to start with but they had a clothing item that my daughter wanted that a friend of hers had and it was from Kohl’s. Since they seem to be so highly priced to begin with along with their fake sales, I won’t be shopping Kohl’s in the future."

They grossly mark up their merchandise and then they give you a Huge "discount." Somethings are marked up over $100, before being put on sale.

I remember reading an article once that a woman was buying a sheet set for say 50% off $200.00 when she opened up the package she found an old price sticker for like $170.00

You're not really saving any money if you were to shop around.

You would be stupid to pay full prices at Kohl's and even stupider not to realize that the sale prices are the normal prices the items should be. However, a smart shopper uses a 30% off Kohl's coupon and combines that with Kohl's cash, and saves a ton. I find a lot of great deals there, and their return policy is the best in the business. I would never shop there without a coupon.

Re: Is it true no more Kohl's cash after Aug 1?

I've always had good luck at Kohl's clearance, I would find a ton of clothes for really cheap. But my Kohl's store closed, and I haven't had any luck at any other location.
I never knew they accepted expired Kohl's cash! I would throw it out if it expired, now I feel dumb!

Even during BIG sales, like black friday, I found "deeply discounted" items for the same "regular price" on Amazon. They have been sued several times for their markups and price inflation.

Yes they do mark everything up just to put it on "sale" but I have gotten some crazy deals combining 30% offs and kohls cash. Plus they take anything back. I love thier return policy!

Re: Is it true no more Kohl's cash after Aug 1?

I don't shop there that much.

I always forget about them and if I need/want something, most of the time I just pick up what I want at Target, ON or Marshall's.

I have gotten some okay deals there but often it's impulse purchases so I'm not really saving money, or items that turn out to be crappy quality anyway.

A lot of their clothing doesn't wash that well.

This.
The original prices on the tags you will never pay.
Everything is always marked down either 20 30 or 40 percent off that "original" tag price. Then if you happen to have a 30 off coupon and some Kohl's cash, it does work out to a decent price.

There stuff is way overpriced and I don't have a card with them so I don't get discounts and coupons. I only buy stuff there if I'm looking for a particular item and didn't find it at Marshall's or TJ maxx (since it's right next store).

For example I needed a jean vest for my niece for her bday, found one there yesterday for $20. It was originally 40 Chat Icon , in no way did I get a deal. That vest was worth $20 a deal would've been getting it for 10.

Just a heads up- I went yesterday for some tank tops. The cashier denied expired Kohl's cash that the woman in front of me had. I guess they're starting early!

That's a shame. I stopped shopping there a long time ago. I find that they marked up their merchandise a lot because they expect ppl to use the kohl's cash and coupons. Its a least $30 over the market. The clothes are very expensive and dont wash well either, as in rip etc. If I am going to spend the money i'd rather spend it at Ann Taylor or Banana where my clothes will last and not everyone is rocking the same thing.

I worked in a department store in college (not Kohl's) and we used to do this all the time.
We would change the signs the night before a sale, marking the merchandise to a higher price and then put the 30 or 40 percent off signs on top of it.
Huge scam but they got away with it by saying the sale prices were off the "Manufacturer's SUGGESTED Prices" . They would actually put that in fine print on the sale ads.

I find that I get better deals at Kohls when they are having a blanket 15 or 20% off sale as opposed to the one where you can get 30% off.

I haven't been there in awhile though since I feel their quality has gone downhill and my local store is annoying.

I shop at Kohls a lot and tend to get great deals, but only bc they have good clearance and they let you combine the 30% off coupon if you have one. Otherwise, I don't even bother with their non-sale items bc I do think they are way overpriced.

Another policy I just found out that they changed is if you return something that you had earned Kohls cash on, they now deduct the value of the kohls cash from your return. It used to be that they would just give you store credit for the whole amount so you technically don't lose the kohls cash.

Kohls really disappoints me sometimes. There stuff is way overpriced! I did go there yesterday and used my card and did get a good deal though. The coupons make all the difference.
