Is it true that all Winthrop rooms are private now?

I was talking with a woman at the OB yesterday that recently did a hospital tour and she said they told her that by the end of Sept. all the Winthrop maternity rooms would be private. When I was there for DD you had 2 to a room unless you paid extra. Luckilly I didnt' get a roomate until the night before I was leaving.

I had a c-section on 9/16 and had to share a room. It didn't look like they were doing any kind of construction to make more rooms.

I did hear the same thing, about the private rooms. but I don't think that all will be private by the end of September.

Yes, I heard this from the head L&D nurse when I was at my OBs office last week! She was doing a private class in the waiting room and that's what she was telling them, so of course I got so excited that I had to interrupt! LOL She said that they were starting the project soon, but she didn't know when it would be completed... Hopefully it will be a done deal before I deliver!

OHHHHH please let this be true. I'm due Nov. 1st.

Even though my roomate didn't come until the night before I was leaving she was sick. I think it was just a cold but still. They wouldn't let her baby in to see her but it was fine for me and my DD to be in the same room & for me & her to share a bathroom?

I was so pi$$ed. The next day I was showered and ready to go home by 7am.

I just visited someone there last week and there were 2 people in a room and they were packed.. Didn't look like they were making any changes to me, but you never know I suppose.

I never heard this but that would be great. I had to pay for a private room with both boys. I could personally never share a room with anyone after giving birth. I would really recommend getting one regardless.

Wow, this would be fabulous if its true. I plan on delivering there in April so they have 7 months to get it all worked out

I hope hope this is true! I live across the street and they are definitely doing construction to the outside of the building. My dh is a resident over there so I'll ask him to get some gossip about it!

How much did it cost to pay for the private room?

Not true at all, was just there last week and there was no sign of any changes. That Hospital was packed and I can't imagine them doing that.

Paid $220 a night for a private room and I had a c-section.

If there is an estimated date for this I will not have #3 until it happens
Actually, in all honestly, I never got a private room and was perfectly fine. But if you have a section, I can totally see the desire to be alone after surgery.
