Is it worth it? swaddle me and sleep sack
I registered for a few of each (and received triplicates) but really don't know if I am going to keep them. Please share your experiences. TIA

Re: Is it worth it? swaddle me and sleep sack
GOD YES!!!!!!!!!!!! Not the sleep sack, but the swaddle me was a LIFESAVER! Your DC may hate it, but he may love it too. I would have at least one on hand to try it out. DS slept longer and more peacefully swaddled. He also had a really bad moro reflex, so it kept him from startling himself awake a lot. It was also handy when he needed to be soothed from an crying fest.

The swaddle me is one of the items we've used most since DS was born! 100% keep at least 1 until you know it works for your DC.

Re: Is it worth it? swaddle me and sleep sack
Keep all of them. They are completely worth it!!!!!!!!!! In the event that the sleep sacks are to small, get the next size up. DS used the sleep sack until he was 19 months old. It was fantastic!

Re: Is it worth it? swaddle me and sleep sack
I made the mistake of registering for 4 miracle blankets (swaddling blankets) b/c I had read how essential they were. I also had the sleep slacks for when he was older. Well, I had the miracle blankets all ready washed and ready for them. He NEVER used them and they weren't cheap! What a waste of money. My DS hated to be swaddled. He was a huge mover (rolling immediately) and would break out of the tightest swaddle in seconds. So, if you are going to get them I suggest waiting until DC is here to see how they like swaddling before you wash them so you can return them!
The sleep sacks - I LOVE! My DS at 20 months STILL wears them (the early walker ones with the foot holes now). B/c he was always moving and rolling around this kept him warm b/c it didn't move off of him or tangle around him. Plus he likes the comfort of the "sack"
HTH!

Re: Is it worth it? swaddle me and sleep sack
YES! My DD wasn't big on swaddling on the swaddle mes were still really good. We could leave her arms out and the rest of her was swaddled. They were really great.
As soon as she could fit in a sleep sack, we switched her (about 10lbs I believe). Those are wonderful as well/ I just started buying the next size up in them and plan on using them until she's at least 1.

Re: Is it worth it? swaddle me and sleep sack
DS didnt like the swaddle me, and I never used sleep sacks.
We always just swaddled with a rec blanket and that worked fine. I personally would say keep 1 or 2 and return the rest while you can. You can always go and repurchase if you need/use/want them.

Re: Is it worth it? swaddle me and sleep sack
I used both. DS LOVED being swaddled and I was the worst at trying to do it with a regular blanket, it would always come apart. The swaddle me almost always kept it in place. I moved to the sleep sack, probably later than I should have since he had gotten so used to being swaddled, but after a few transition days, it was fine. I just did not want to use a regular blanket for safety reasons.

Re: Is it worth it? swaddle me and sleep sack
yes, keep both! the swaddle me is great until they break out of it, then the sleep sack acts like a blanket to keep baby warm....we use that every single night now

The swaddle me was a lifesaver with DS! We always made sure that we had enough (just in case they dirty or were in the laundry).

Re: Is it worth it? swaddle me and sleep sack
I haven't used any of the sleep sacks and swaddle me's that we received for DS and he is 6 weeks old. I swaddle him using a receiving blanket, but his hands and arms need to be exposed all the time - so the swaddle me wouldn't work!

Re: Is it worth it? swaddle me and sleep sack
DS did not like to be swaddled for very long...
Can you keep them, try them out and then return them if you don't use them?

Re: Is it worth it? swaddle me and sleep sack
i don't think the swaddle me is necessary. i swaddle my dd using s receiving blanket and it works great. actually, if you can steal some of the blankets from the hospital - they're the best for that!
the sleep sack i can see using once i can't swaddle her anymore but as we haven't gotten to that stage yet i can't recommend it.

Re: Is it worth it? swaddle me and sleep sack
DS loves his Swaddle Me's. I swear that's why he's been sleeping through the night every night from such a young age. During the day, I swaddle him in his bouncy seat in a regular blanket and he takes long naps. I haven't tried the sleep sacks yet. When DS was teeny-tiny he came out of a regular blanket I had him swaddled in in his cradle at night, and it covered his face. I found him right away but it still freaked me out, which is why I don't put blankets in his crib anymore.
